Found more strange info: checking via GD instead shows "Pending Delete" status (but domain is in Amazon registrar)

Does anyone have experience in this?

Thanks but no thanks. I did think of asking Rob at first, but I know he has his own portfolio, plus if it's a genuine deal and he likes the name there's no way I can compete with him. Even if he assures that he won't buy I'll still decline since it might be like dangling a tasty bait and not letting him have a bite..... anyone will know how bad that feels

At any rate, after some mails back and forth seller wants to transact on e/s/c/r/o/w.com, which of course I would instantly decline. Though I'm still not sure how it actually goes for buyers (can anyone enlighten on how the process goes + any disadvantages for buyers at e/s/c/r/o/w.com?), I only know how bad it is for sellers. I remembered something said about e/s/c/r/o/w.com not holding the domain, but as a newbie in this I don't know what that truly means either. Would that mean sellers can potentially run with my money without giving the domain? Loophole? Or does it mean something else?

No pending case on UDRPsearch either.

Strangely another mail came in about the same name but from a different person.

Many flags I can tell, so now I'm trying to make them use either DAN or transfer that domain to Epik > marketplace.

Now I wonder how common domain outbound scams are, if any

It's frontrunning - they are fishing to see if you want to buy a name that 1. they dont own, 2. they prob never owned, 3. they are looking at drop/expired lists and trying to sell you a name you could reg - they are just charging you. It a scam as far as i am concerned.

I have them contact me for names I own and dropped - but they contact me because I have similar names - blah blah

Go hand reg the name or see if you can get in GD closeouts or the like. bet you can

It's either the Whois result is inaccurate or the domain was manually deleted for some reason. It's possible that Updated On: 2020-01-24 is the actual date when the domain was deleted.

Deleting a domain sends it immediately to the Redemption period.
