It appears the domain industry has been starting to take notice of the .us namespace over the past year, read DnJournal.com .us growth and Namepros with even greater expectations for the year to come.

So I thought it would be a good idea to ask everyone to show us your .us domain names. You can post your favorites or your entire portfolio.

Betting on this little portfolio being more valuable 5-10 years from now. I paid very little so I am confident I will profit just selling one or two.

GoDaddy says that hot.us sold for $1399.
Is that what you paid for it?

Does anyone know if its permissible for a non-US company to have a .US domain registered to it? As far as I can tell there is no presence on US soil for this company but not 100% sure (if that matters). The main HQ for the company is in Europe with other locations that I could find elsewhere around Europe and Asia but so far none in the US. Nothing on their website about a US contact point either.

If the company does business with/in the U.S., they are permitted to register the extension, at least that's what I recall reading. But proving that is usually done by having a U.S. address.

You can reg. a .US domain ( a non-US company can reg. a .US domain)
In a eventual Neustar (Nexus verify/complain) you must prove that company is connected with a US presence - it's enough a bill of sale to a entity from USA ( US citizen or company with US adress )

Only took 45 days for the first one to sell via Afternic. Paid for the whole purchase of the portfolio and doubled my money. I paid $10 each and just sold 1 for $500. Not bad. Don't give up on your good ones!

I think .us will be discovered like .com was someday. Most americans just dont know the ccTLD yet.

When they do, it will be great.

Very wealthy country.

I will not sell any more for $500. :)

Just the other day I regged playball.us ...just liked it.

Anyway, one school of thought could be that price worries over .com and .org could be good for .us. These concerns could hypothetically accelerate interest in the US in it's own .us cctld.

Particularly because of its low, seemingly stable registration and renewal price

:)

.US should try to capitalize.

Maybe @Bob Hawkes could do his magic and write about .us. :)

I sold CreditScore (us) back in the day.. Sometimes wish I had held onto it.

It’s hard to believe that after all these years that .US would finally take off though.

It would be nice to see it get some actual usage. I still like the way the short one word/two words look with .us.
