Afternic Listing Question

Feel stupid here, been an Afternic member since the early 2000's. Sold my first domain name there in 2004 I believe. Stopped using Afternic some years ago when they were sold a couple of times - I branched out and tried other marketplaces.

I recently decided to start listing domains at Afternic after all these years and so far I have three, accepted, fast-transfer (not sure what that means), changed my nameservers to ns1/ns2 afternic . com etc, but my main question is, when I visit the domain I am brought to what looks like a PPC page.

Why arent visitors going to a listing page where they can see my name's pricing and make an offer. Right now there is absolutely no way for a visitor to even click somewhere to go make an offer.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Try their ns3.afternic.com ns4.afternic.com

Better but still not ideal in my opinion. Althouth @Joe Styler said on other thread that this year Will be a new one or this renewed

They have an ns3/ns4.afternic.com

I will change and see if that helps.

update: I changed to those nameservers and now it shows a page for a visitor to inquire about the domain for sale but no pricing information is available. I have BIN set so I am still confused.

Yes it's how it works. You could use it until they release one with buy it now (this year) or use other such as dan's for sale pages (what i use now).

Only 2 of three domains have changed to that page. I would have thought a place like Afternic would have landing pages where buyers can see the domain's prices. I mean, why give us the option to price the domain if they're not going to show it to the visitor?

We don't have landing pages where there is a BIN price or any price. We have done extensive testing in the past on this and found that there are more sales this way. By a decent margin. However, customers have been asking about it and we will have a landing page with a BIN option sometime this year.

Thank you Joe. It has been many many years since I've listed my names at Afternic. Lots has changed. Hoping to make some sales via Afternic this year.

When you change nameserver to afternic (ns1.afternic.com ,ns2.afternic.com ) . After adding domain , by default , your domain would go to their parking page, it shouldn't use their nameserver when you don't want earn from afternic parking , you only need redirect / forwarding for your parent DNS Manegement to this page https://www.afternic.com/domain/yourdomainhere

Thank you both @Pay.My.id and @timestamp I actually do not wish to earn PPC from visits - just want to present the for sale page and sell the domain to an end-user so that is very helpful. I also like how @Joe Styler noted that they did extensive testing and by a decent margin their lander performed better than showing pricing. SO I will try Joe's way for a while and then maybe switch over to your way. Thanks!

If you direct it to that page you can have a page that shows the price but you miss out on the Internationalization of the n3 and ns4 of the landing page. Meaning it will not show the page in local languages and will not show a local phone number. So, for example, if I have someone looking at my domain name from China they will see English and a US phone number, or Germany same thing. If I point the domain to ns3 and ns4 the landers localize based on the buyer and will change language and phone numbers to what we think is their language choice. These landers convert better than forwarding the domain to a page with a price from our tests. But if you want to forward to that URL for a price it will work. We know it does not convert sales as well as the ns3 and ns4 do though.

IMO , this answer is the most relevant for us... Thank you @Joe Styler

@Joe Styler, I think that a good idea for a buy it now landing page would be:

1- Only logo of Godaddy (if possible)

2- Buy now button and make offer button show one or both

3- Page in local languages with phone number so in case of questions/doubts people can call

4- Option for showing or not renewal price (in case of premiums)

5- An explanation of why some domain prices (so people can understand the reason of prices)
