I got 2 price requests, then the listings disappeared. Is that normal?

I'm new to Godaddy Auctions. I've only sold one domain there via BIN but never received a price request on GA via Afternic listing before.

I recently got 2 price requests on two domains that were listed on GA via Afternic and after I responded with BIN and floor prices the two listings disappeared after about 3 days. Is this normal? Does it mean the domains are being negotiated with sales or could it be an error? I checked to see if the domains are still listed on the Afternic site and they are, despite disappearing from GA.

I messaged Afternic and haven't had a response from them yet, so just figured I would see if anyone here has experienced this.

Thanks for any advice.

Maybe sold?

That would be nice, but I somehow doubt I would make two sales back to back like that, not to be pessimistic...I wonder if the listings ran out of auction days.

I have a 3rd domain that I also received a price request for about a week ago and it is still up on GA, with about 10 days left on the auction days, which I assume was set after the domain received the price request. I've been domaining for a while, but I admit that I know nothing about auctions lol...

What happens to a domain after the auction days run out on GA listing that was submitted via Afternic?

I get price requests here and there.. only 2 or 3 have resulted in sales after I put a BIN.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. Someone else said that it's the norm, price requests.. just ignore.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY: CHECK YOUR PROMOTIONS FOLDER TAB IN GMAIL. Gmail sometimes throws them in there! WTF

Definitely not getting my hopes up. I know most of these price requests probably come from other domainers.

I don't know why Gmail does that haha...I need to figure out how to re-assign mail from a certain address to go to the primary inbox...

Not sure about the disappearance of the listings. That might be a platform error, because if the name is sold, the SOLD message is sent to you immediately.

In my experience, most price request lead nowhere...

Yeah I am thinking that it's an error as well. Thanks... I'll just wait for the reply from Afternic...

It is kind of hard to say for sure without knowing the account or the domains. We don't take the names down from a price request. It could be an error but that is less likely than someone being interested in your domains. We have a lot of reseller partners besides GoDaddy. It could be that somoene is interested in those two names and they are on hold because of a reseller asking us to hold them. There's various reasons for this, fraud checks, maybe the money didn't fund yet or the sale didn't complete. Support, knowing the domains, will be able to give you a more specific response. But it is most likely that someone is interested in the domains and put them into their shopping cart somewhere but that doesn't mean the sale will finalize. When/If it does you will receive the sold message, if not the names will pop back into the listing service for people to buy.Good luck and hope you get another sale.

Thanks for the reply! If a seller has a domain in their cart, how long can they do that, preventing other potential buyers from seeing it in GA?

Up to a week. But it is not just by putting it into the cart that can hold it that long. It could be a fraud check on the platform that the purchase is taking place on or there could be a payment delay, say funding AliPay in Asia. Really not easy to answer without knowing exactly what is happening without specifics. The support team can see your account and what is happening with your domains specifically. But the longest a domain can be on hold is a week, barring some edge case issue. [email protected]

I got a reply for one if the domains and Ivan S. said it was the domain propagating after adding my prices in response to the price request.

Given that the requesting buyer can't see the domain when the domain is propagating in response to a my price update, how is the buyer supposed to purchase?

I'm now waiting for them to get back to me about the other domain, which is still missing in GA. Thanks again for your responses Mr. Styler.
