Good Evening All,

I know its early days and 3 domains to my name doesn't show a lot, I would like to know if I'm looking correctly and if my keen eye is in the right ball park, my first purchase was pretty bad I will probably end up dropping it before the renewal next year.

First buy -
listofpets.com

Second purchase -
Brokensystems.com

Third Purchase -
foreigninsurance.com

This isn't me asking for an appraisal but I'd like to know if you saw the second/third purchase would you also go for it? If you wouldn't go for the last 2 what puts you off buying it?

Thanks

Benny

Hello!

The best measure of a name's potential value, IMO, comes from the number of inquiries or offers to purchase the name that you receive in a year or two.

Obviously a sale is the ultimate measure of value seen in a name.

So if your names are listed on a public platform available to be seen by potential buyers - you have to decide when and if to renew them or exterminate them prior to their next and unenviable, renewal date.

I base decisions as such primarily on views and offers/ if an option.

Sometimes I am boneheaded and keep a near viewless name because, I simply like it and believe it may find a new home eventually.

There is an APPRAISAL section in which you can list domains for members appraisals and comments although not all names listed get appraised.

Brokensystems.com as a domain means nothing per se to me, which of the million broken systems in the world were you anticipating having an interest in the name? ( rhetorical)

ForeignInsurance.com IMO at least conjures up an image of something I might think of prior to traveling abroad although as I recall I always check all that matters insurance-wise with my homeowners/auto/etc agents prior to travel and would not consider purchasing that name.

Good luck!

Hi WatchDogue,

Thank you for the warm welcome and contribution, regarding what you said "domain means nothing per se to me" what is the meaning of SE?

EDIT1: The reason I bought the Brokensystems domain was because I thought it could be worth something to a IT/ Tech shop who deals with broken gadgets, I somehow also interpreted this as a System such as the "Criminal justice system is broken" blog,

Tell me your thoughts :)

Regards

Benny

I used " per se " to mean the two words ( broken systems) combined as a domain name mean or represent nothing to me in or by itself / themselves as a domain.

Well, if you believe in the name you might of your own volition ( not a suggestion ) contact the IT / Tech shop audience you thought the name might appeal to and make it known it is available.

Hi

from a reselling perspective, you are not even in the parking lot, of the ballpark

more like you're still on your way

and once you get there, you'll find that the stadium is much bigger than you thought

but if you have developing skills, then " listofpets.com" could be an easy one for content

:)

Good Luck!

imo...

Thank you Biggie! I’m in the process of learning more than I already know about websites.
