Godaddy got Uniregistry - here are the Side Effects

lockt at the date when it was launched that Godaddy got Uniregistry and the traffic on my Sedo listed domains exploded

coincident ?
natural ?

What happened ?

Think to yourself, does Godaddy utilize parking for THEIR OWN domains?

Nah, Uni parking pages looked light years ahead of Godaddy's.

Elliot Silver posted great post in comments section of his acquisition article;
Here are a few names owned by GoDaddy / NameFind that are parked:

BigPumpkin.com
FlowerSeed.com
CozySocks.com

They don’t tend to park the highest value (ie one word or LLL.com) domain names, but they probably park the vast majority.
Wouldnt make sense, for parking to go down, if it's not a core part?

Seems GD park mediocre, hoping integrate Uni parking but looks deprioritizing if traffic down...

Of course this is all speculation, since the situation is fluid,
Samer

Correlation is not Causation.

Truth be told, I think @Gube crawled their inventory for populating a new widget on NameInvestors.com. He should probably comment on that to see if that explains it.

Regardless, I think it is just noise.

domains are registered at :

Dynadot , Epik and Namecheap and Strato
Only a few are at Uniregistry

so i still do not understand why the Traffic ( Uniques ) went up on these special day when it was launched that GD got UNI

weird

Multiple bots from the US based authorities. They’re busy collecting data from the aftermarket places also any website selling domains including social accounts. All names that contains a very specific word/s... related or semi-related to this story (they’re looking at the price / value and trying to figure out how much $ was involved...)

Regards

Almost every month has such abnormal days...
Looks like scheduled checks by Google bots or something like that...

Thanks for sharing interesting stats @Michael Ehrhardt . It may well be totally unrelated as @Rob Monster suggests, and related to some kind of bot searches, although it is possible when something big happens in domaining it spurs more people to look into domains that might have been on backburner so more visits possibly. I have not tried to see if numbers actually support that guess however.
