I know this has been mentioned a few times, but the deadline to submit your comments regarding the .com price increases is 11:59pm Universal time (in just about 2 hours = 6:59PM Eastern Time).

Please try to use your own words so ICANN doesn't "claim" all the messages are just spam from the same people (they've used that excuse before).

You can do so here:
https://www.icann.org/public-comments/com-amendment-3-2020-01-03-en/mail_form

Here's a great way to get caught up:

(.com discussed around the 20 minute mark)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
It is really hard to have a leg to stand on in this case IMO, .com pricing has stayed between 5.99 to 8.99 for 15+ years straight, although I don’t want pricing to go up, obviously there is a huge demand for .com domain names. Supply vs Demand will win every time .

Actually .. that's wrong .. the whole point of the Internet is for EVERY voice to be heard .. in this case it's not right to only allow those with money to speak.

The costs involved have dropped significantly over the years .. any increase really can't be justified in any way.

We need to be really careful, because the "supply" in question is a supply of ONE TLD. At this point in 2020 it's very hard to argue there is an equal to .com .. as such there is no competition .. and so particularly since Verisign are more "stewards" then "owners", anti-monopolistic checks should indeed be established to avoid potential price gauging.

Do ICANN even read these comments?

It doesn't matter .. at the very least people should leave their comment to stand as a record. If/when governments get involved, the more ICANN "ignores", the harder it will be to justify their horrible decisions.

Do ICANN even read these comments?

.Org sale they asked us how we felt;

The outcome was 3252 (98.1%) of people were against removing price caps .ORG to six in favor.

Six were in favor of .Org Sale & Price uncapped.

Hope the agency for public internet good, reads these comments; .org, .com or otherwise

Samer

I doubt they read any comments, they own the highest commodity on the internet, the .com registry, if they were raising .com to even $20 a registration I could understand an uproar perhaps, I think in this case, they aren’t listening at all as they aren’t being unreasonable in their new pricing scale.

they have given us domainers run of the .com house for many many years now.

it doesn’t matter if their operating costs have decreased as opposed to increase. They had to sustain and maintain through the growth period, they are ready to make a profit more desirable to their goals, they have earned that right to do so.

Sigh .. I sent mine in .. but email bounced. I called ICANN and the person who answered gave me a different email .. if any of you got an error please PM me and I'll give you the email in question.

Seems a bit sketchy .. the email I originally sent it to was the one generated directly at ICANN's comment page! :-/

Odd. I got a confirmation email back on mine saying it was received.

Did you sent it before 23:59 UTC?
Pity if your comment bounced. I am sure it was a great and extensive comment :)
With yours and another one, it would have reached the 9,000. It finally got 8,998 comments.
Anyway thank you for your comments here, for sending your comment even if it was not published, and for everybody that has sent a comment there!

PS: I see the ending date there:
Ending: Fri Feb 14 23:54:41 UTC 2020
So, it has ended 5 minutes before 23:59 UTC. If you sent it after 23:54:41 UTC 2020 it's very probably that your comment was rejected for this reason.

You shouldn't have waited to the last minute Ategy!

Maybe they closed it early? But it was very clear we were allowed until midnight.

What you put for ending is simply the last comment that was submitted.

I'm pretty sure it's ok .. I did get a bounceback error from ICANN's mail servers .. so there's a record that I sent it on time. Pretty sure it'll be there eventually.

Maybe they closed it early .. it says ...

But who knows if "archives" means they closed it early, or simply that a new archive is created after each submission?

post it on NameCult like did with 1k- $1M piece
Was already planning on it over the weekend at some point. ;)

Yes you are right. So let's hope they finally publish your comment!
PS: Now I hope it was not bounced due to a limit of the number of characters! Because two hours... give to write a quite extensive comment Ategy! :)
