Hello,

I have some domains registered at GoDaddy.com

I want to move them over to my favorite registrar which is NameCheap.com

If I prepay for lets say 5 years for the domains, and then move them to the new registrar, will those prepaid years follow with the transfer?
I mean if the prepaid years will be passed on inside my namecheap account?

I want to think that this is the way it works, but im not sure, so I had to ask someone who knows before I take action.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Yes, registrars carry over pre-paid time. An extra year is added to the existing expiration date.

The exception is the Forever renewal which is not yet an industry standard.

Is there a way for me to send you an email Rob? I dont see a PM button anywhere in here.
Or is it the"direct message" link? Will it be public or go directly only to you?

Direct message goes directly to person you’re messaging. No one else will be able see
