Domain Buyer's Payment Issues with Dan.com

So to cut the long story short, I just completed an outbound sale earlier today through Paypal because my enduser wasnt able to make payment with his card at DAN.com few days ago and went silent, so I followed up and he mentioned about the "payment issue, and he'll try another card next morning or check with his bank". I had imported this lead into their (Dan's) system.

Have you had similar experience with Dan.com where you had almost lost a domain sale, or were on the verge of losing a sale but saved it somehow?

Just to highlight, I had 8-9 various buyer offers on different domain names at Dan, which disappeared or went silent a month and a half ago, so I have decided to switch platforms and shifted base to EFTY earlier this week.

UPDATED:

Here are some proofs for you regarding payment failures at DAN.com:

If it was one-off instance that I have mentioned or have been complaining about, and DAN is religiously refuting, I would have gone my way but when more than one person complains, there must be something wrong.. think about from a business point of view and do as you please!

This is the thread where you voice it out and let 'em know that they (Dan.com) are losing the game!!

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
They didnt bother chiming-in, as usual.

I noticed. I'm satisfied with their venue personally but would like to hear their side of the story nonetheless.

I was satisfied till the time I noticed my buyers started disappearing, and one of my buyer complained of not being able to pay through them, while he was able to instantly complete payment through Paypal.

Again, their side of story is going to be, there are no known issues with payment processing at the platform.

Never encountered it myself but I'm sure there are issues from time to time, as on any venue. I find it more troubling that they decide to close your user account because you question the payment gateway.

Even if you're a pain in the neck, does that justify account closure? It makes me uncomfortable reporting issues to the DAN thread and thats never a good thing.

This isn’t about one well worded polite complaint. OP has made numerous posts against DAN most with rude language all over this site. They can boot problem sellers if they want to. Its their platform. Honestly the posts I have seen verge on a vendetta. The best way to get resolution is to take it up with DAN customer service before belittling them repeatedly on a google indexed public forum. With as many complaints as the OP has not sure why they still had names at DAN anyway.

looks like you know a lot of backstory about this one dude.. guessed it right, you don’t know Jack!! SMH

Did you know why I went critical of this platform? Because your so called friend Reza called me liar because I pointed out payment problem. Not just me, your friend Reza was rude to @Haykay2005 in one of his earlier posts where I had requested him that isn’t the way to talk to his clients.

Unlike you, I wasn’t going to sit quiet or act like a polite gentleman when I was being pointed out or name-called.. but thank you for your concern and continue doing your thang of being biased!

FYI, I wasn’t using them and nameservers were long switched to better platforms. Thank you once again for being ignorant of real stuff!

I questioned and I was name-called and I don’t really take that stuff lightly.

I don’t really care about my account being closed/deleted at the underdeveloped platform, but it had failed/dead leads which could’ve been revived at some point in time with some manual work, which I lost when they closed my account, which is troubling act.

Such platforms are only good as long as you are nice to them. The time you start questioning, they show you their true colors.

would like to hear their side of the story
They already replied a few times that Adyen is the best.
And you agree or not - doesn't matter for Dan.

Just had a buyer get payment rejected multiple times even after speaking with bank and approving the transaction. Main issue was buyer in US while Dan in Amsterdam. Buyer gave up. Trying to revive the sale.

Thanks for sharing Werty. I hope the not-so-efficient management of underdeveloped platform is reading.

@DAN.COM would you still namecall us when there have been multiple instances of payment failure form buyers? You even stooped to the level of calling us liars. SMH

Update: Underdeveloped aka Dan deleted my account without notice, for raising concerns about their poor payment processing, of their platform and I lost all my (almost dead) leads or failed transactions data.

Glad I moved out of their useless underdeveloped platform earlier than that!!

Interesting. Other than posting the Truth about how my exact same domains have sold well at platforms like Afternic Sedo DomainAgents and not at all during the same time period, at UNdeveloped (DAN) I haven't been a particularly vocal critic of DAN's lately and yet is it possible that @DAN.COM , meaning REZA pulled the same childish stunt on me, closing my DAN account because I have posted criticism of his platform?

I hope I am wrong, because any company owner who would pull your account Soofi simply because you criticized his business is not worthy of running any company with a public presence.

I mean let's just close bank accounts and processing accounts anytime a client files a complaint with the Better Business Bureau or posts something negative about us online; what a mature way to run a business. Real way to ensure longevity of your business. :grumpy:

I am not jumping to conclusions yet but it would seem that the end of 2019 was "Reza flies off the handle month" for DAN as Reza closed the DAN accounts of anyone who criticized him. And again, if I am wrong, and there was some legitimate reason for DAN to have closed your account Soofi, I would love to hear it from Reza.

What is really interesting is that the last communication I received from DAN was one CONFIRMING that yet another bogus buyer (apparently a recurring issue at DAN according to @JudgeMind ) had bid on a domain (not that I ever got too many bids, legitimate OR bogus while at DAN, and NO closed sales whatsoever at DAN even though my same domains continue to sell like gangbusters elsewhere), and then when I got around to trying to respond to DAN about this issue, I noticed that I could not login and that my email address no longer existed as a DAN account.

I really don't want to think that the public presence for an online company would act in this manner, and would welcome the opportunity to re-post here that I was mistaken.

Another account closed by Undeveloped aka DAN just because you questioned or pointed out issues with their useless platform.

But again, we will have some blind followers calling us liars.. sad state of affairs!!

DAN informs me that my account was deleted due to non-activity. True, I have sold no domains at DAN but I have responded to the few inquiries I have received, even when they turned out to be bogus offers. In any case I have created a new account and re-uploaded all of my 1500 or so domains, and if the account remains up then it would seem that my account was not deleted due to any affirmative action by Reza and I apologize for having assumed that this might be the case.

Hmm, account deleted with 1500 domains listed?

Very very strange, I cannot imagine an account with that many domains being deleted on another platform due to inactivity.

It sounds to me like there is more going on here and @xynames has a right to be suspicious.

I would like to add that I have only had the payment issue once (that I know of). I have closed many other sales with Dan with no issues at all. Whether unknown buyers have tried to purchase one of my domains at Dan before and couldn't because of payment issues that I have no idea of. But I will still use them for some sales as payment issues can arise with any sales platform. This is my honest and unbiased review.

My account was deleted after I questioned their payment processing issues, so this (xynames’s account closure) should not be new but it was smartly covered up and pretty quickly by Dan saying it was closed due to inactivity.

Strange is the word, for sure!

I think I have to take my domains elsewhere. I can't afford to allow this ruin my sale.

since were sharing dan stories..
i basically had near zero success getting sales/offers from people directly finding my names on their marketplace.. then when I tested them for a while wiht sale lander.. there were a few offers... couple sales... but many many of those resulted in cancellation.. never got paid.

the sales I did get with them are basically my bodis inquiries which I negotiate by email then add as lead to dan.... I have pretty good success ratio from that... as in: they get paid.

honestly, I have no clue what to make of this or why this happens with many canelled sales.. maybe it just means there are huge numbers of fake nonserious buyers there.. especially there for some reason..

will I blame some flaw in payment system.. well I guess not cause when I add leads it usually works.

besides, if dan says they experience huge growth each month... and everything going up.. then logic dictates if i gets a bunch of unpaid sales... i may just be unlucky like that.

Any traffic you experienced from using DAN landing pages would be from your domains alone, nothing to do with DAN and would be identical no matter where you hosted your landing pages.

I too have experienced zero benefit so far from DAN marketplace but I see no downside in listing all domains in all non-exclusive marketplaces so I will continue to list them in DAN marketplace but use my own landing pages on my own website.

I believe @werty did not have his account closed, it is @xynames who was told his account was closed due to inactivity and he was free to create a new one, which he did.

Sorry for the confusion, I was using my phone earlier to make that above post and mixed up names.

Corrected member name above :)

I reached an agreement with a buyer through Dan, but the buyer disappeared.

Dan says they are sending reminders to the buyer, to pay.

Still no response after several days.

If I go to the domain name the page says the domain has been

sold and an agreement has been reached.

How long does Dan let the buyer off the hook before I am allowed

to cancel the sale and get the domain back up for sale to

another buyer?
