SquadHelp - Marketplace

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
If you have a bunch of domains set with "wholesale prices", but your total number of premium names on SH drops below 10, does that cancel your ability to sell those remaining names at "wholesale prices" even if they are already set ?

The support at squadhelp is not helpful in any way... I have requested to add domains on 29 November and still waiting .... The strange thing is SH support is not responding to my conversation after seeing it ...

i think squadhelp is gradually following the brandbucket trend.
they started to take 1$ for submission.
not giving fast review.
review system is too poor now a days
they have rejected my almost 40 domains back to back.
now a days its difficult to understand what type they are accepting.
just fed up with review pattern........

OK, I just checked. There seem to be plenty of companies in the wild that use "Avrio", so checked what the term means. Apparently, it is Greek for "Tomorrow".

The problem with this is that for every greek good word (let's assume there are 2000 of those), you can combine it with another 2000 of great english words, then you are at already 4 million combos.

Then add latin, spanish etc. to the mix, and we are talking tens of millions. So there is little incentive for an end user to buy your listed name, if he can get similar one for hand reg.

So, SH has definitely been following a dead end here. Just because there are hundreds of Avrio+Word names, doesn't make it a good candidate for SH market.
They refuse a lot of good premium. They also have a customer base that more and more want you to find a name that they can reg themselves.

Also sending contests that don't match domain types in portfolio.

I have 235 names listed and only 2 sales so far. Started in May 2019 and stopped listing in September. Not far off from the generally-accepted 1% STR but definitely lower than the SH average (which was the reason why I tried the platform). Hopefully sales come in before renewals. :xf.frown:

250+ names almost 3 months 0 sale and 1 sale got cancelled after 10 days , this is unfair, is sh only favour some sellers @GrantP

As sellers, we need to see a complete list of recent sales. If SH has tens of thousands of domains for sale, but only a hand full of sales per week, then what are we all doing there ?

It's bad enough that SH has become very selective to new admissions, but we have no idea if we are investing our time and money in something worthwhile.

I like SH, but I want to know where we are headed with this and if I am not going to make money in the future. I want to stay invested in brandables, but if its not worth it, then I should just keep my existing domains listed and move on.

Nope. You're in a much better place, buddy. :) We just scaled too quickly and expected the STR to be close to the site average. Looks like numbers game doesn't work at this point. Anyway, I still have 3 more months before I turn a year old in SH. Not pushing the panic button yet.

https://squadhelp.com/t/new-feature-ability-to-list-premium-domains-on-afternic/5798

Thats totally great news!

Edit: Not so great...

At this point, this Beta program is currently only available to those sellers who have a minimum of 50 domains in SH premium domain marketplace.

The integration of afternic with Squadhelp is a good thing. What’s not good is having to pay hundreds of dollars ($512 to be exact) to be able to list. It seems it is just a way for sh to profit upfront off of this. I refuse to pay to be able to list.
