Hi All,

I know this has probably been discussed numerous times, but cant find any answers when searching the forum.

I believe its best to have buy it now on your domains at only one market, but which would you suggest. And where is best for having domains on make offer.

Thanks.

BIN on afternic seems to be best imo.....Then again I have sold names on Afternic at Make offer

Below is how mine are set up

Afternic - BIN
Sedo - make offer
Epik Landing Page - make offer + a few at BIN (some with payment plan option)
Afternic Lander - price request

Thanks for the knowledge, need to pick a strategy and stick with it. I take it general rule is to only offer BIN in one place.

generally the best idea, though some do chance it and have BIN on different marketplaces. I personally would not recommend it, but each to their own....

Ok thanks, Going to try some on Dan and some on Afternic. Do you have to set a reserve on afternic ?

Put a reserve in place and also set a floor price then the Afternic sales people can negotiate on your behalf...

I think in general BIN only one place is safest. However, I was told that you can have fast transfer with BIN at both Sedo and Afternic and the system will prevent a double sale.

I agree with the view that if you feel that a domain name is more likely to sell with a payment plan I would set the BIN at a place that supports that like Epik, DAN, NameSilo.

I would like to share an idea I had, and started implementing in my portfolio, but then had second thoughts, and I am currently unsure.

Typically I had BIN at one of the big 3 marketplaces (Afternic, Sedo, DAN). I at one point had links on my portfolio website to all of the places that it could be purchased at, thinking that giving choices was a good idea. For example if a name was listed BIN at DAN, offer at Epik and Afternic, I would have links to all 3 plus a fourth link if they preferred to buy it from me as a direct purchase.

Then I decided that was needlessly complicated and I started converting to a system where I only gave a link to one external place, usually the BIN listing.

But then it seemed to me that people once they decide want a fast and automatic transfer so I started to converting to the preferred link being (if possible for that domain) a registrar marketplace listing where it could be instantly bought. That is if name was at NameSilo my primary buy now link to a NameSilo market listing, if at Epik there, Dynadot market if registered there, and so on. The idea being speed and assurance I really own the name, and also generally good commission structure for me and process all happens without work.

But most registrar marketplaces are less well known, so now rethinking strategy once again.

Thoughts?

Its very complex. Ive been linking to my Godaddy sales page for outbound. Gives instant option to purchase.

Yes, if all domains at a single registrar with a marketplace, like GoDaddy, the process can be much simpler. And if they qualify for fast transfer in premium network odds are most will see them that way in any case so link only really matters in outbound.
