have you moved around the globe... or are you doing it now? while doing some domaining, and taking your business on the road...

plz share experiences.. past or present.. or even future plans... such as where might be the best places... living costs... cheapest.. most expensive... rentals... food... or anything else you may want to share...

would love to hear about it... and hope others would too!

cheers

I spent a week in Cartagena and Santa Marta Colombia recently. I had two sales via Afternic while in Santa Marta. While I tend to have make offer pricing at DAN and only a small number of domains listed at SEDO (see little point in listing on a marketplace where sales are practically nonexistent), I often have lower BIN pricing on the EFTY landing page. So once I get that "Congratulations your domain has sold!" Email I remove BIN pricing on the landing page and make sure it is not listed at SEDO.

From many videos I have seen, Medellin is becoming an expat hotspot - low cost of living, great weather, well-developed public transportation system, many places to work out, ample recreational activities available, safe for a large city in Poblado, Laureles, Envigado areas and for the single guys beautiful women. Medellin is certainly high on my list of places to visit. YouTube channels to check out - Life Afar, How to Expat, Sly's Life, Explorando, Carlton's Travel Adventures and others....

Colombia is great... I've been there. Highly recommended. At least basic Spanish is a must though. Also South America in general - all countries are actually different, very different when you see them from inside. But all good :) Also, timezones close to U.S. may be useful for auctions and the like... The only issue now is a great exodus from Venezuela. Anybody who wants to apply for a residence permit in South American countries - will now have to wait ~6 months or more. Just to deliver the papers. Imo, the best thing in all South America - yeah, the best - is that nobody cares, about nothing :) (except football). An easy "maΓ±ana" lifestyle ...

I once sold a domain while I was in Mexico visiting my wife’s family. (420Gurus dot com)

Southern Mexico in the Veracruz area has a low cost of living, but is also very modern within the cities. It’s a nice place with a lot of history.

I’ve often thought of moving there and how nice it would be to scale up domaining and try to live off of that while my wife worked in her profession.

nice! I'd like to consider south america too... venezuala is obviously an issue... but maybe only for columbia...

other than this, what do you guys think of places like dominican republic? or even some very cheap european countries like ukraine... i don't think it gets much cheaper than ukraine in this world... maybe except india.. pakistan...

im thinking of doing some moving around... see bit of the world... cause i've never traveled much before... do some domaining while on the road... so this is all great info... keep it coming guys...

here is probably the best site for comparing costs... here is example of lviv in ukraina vs a city in mexico....

even future plans

I am going RV hunting this weekend. Although I would miss the fresh vegetables from my garden, it is becoming more appealing to me to move around. My dog, computer and a few clothing items would be all that would go with me...gonna sell everything else (its amazing what I am willing to do to be able to park and eat at every In-n-Out in the country!).

i guess it all depends on whether one likes to travel or not... plus of course on the income one makes from domaining.... say one makes 2k per month from domains... that won't get you much of a life in say USA... but in a place like india... or ukraine.... or a good few others too I think... it can allow you to live quite comfortably.. while also letting you do that thing you enjoy which is traveling around a bit............ and of course... also... domaining as way of income..
