How to sell generic domain names

I'm new here and just a beginner in domain investing. I was hoping to see a lot of replies here, since I have the same questions. Do you have a website to list your domains on and drive business to? How about a Facebook account? I've been exploring Facebook ads and I'm getting a lot of likes to my page but no sales yet. I'm just using the Boost Post method for $5/wk. I may upgrade to actual ads next to see what kind of results I get. I'm looking at Google Ads, too, but still just researching and exploring, trying to get a better feel for how it works and the results I might expect. These are higher cost than FB. I'm also looking into email drip campaigns using highly targeted techniques. Just some thoughts, unfortunately, like you I don't have a long track record to offer yet.

For the geo domain names I'm planning to contact directly the small business owners in a specific town on their Facebook page or other Socials pages (for example several car insurance agents in Topeka proposing them the domain TopekaCarInsurance.com). Maybe I will try to make some quick sale in the range of $100-200... What do you think?

I like the direct contact approach, too, in theory. I have been trying it, and my son, who has been domaining for quite some time has tried it on and off. But neither of us have had any sales from it. My son takes the short and quick approach, I like to offer some explanation and facts. So far neither has worked. But we're using email, your social pages approach may be more effective. I like it if you can get your message to the decision maker and not just a "webmaster" employee. $100 - $200 is certainly a great price for them!

Another idea (I'm just starting up!) is to hire some qualified freelancers on upwork.com/5rr.com, etc. and exploit their telemarketing skills. Did you try this method?

Just checked out their website. Looks interesting, I'll have to explore their method and fees. If they can put me touch with some good marketing people I may bite. I haven't used any telemarketing, please keep me posted on how you make out with it. Thanks for the info on upwork, too.

Actively participate in forums that cater to your niche market. For example, if your target market is real estate, make valuable contributions on major real estate forums. After you've established yourself, add a link to your portfolio in your signature.

On facebook, join groups pertaining to your target market (not domainers) and make valuable contributions as well. You get the idea, yes?
