In the early days (which wasn't long ago) of the term "DeFi" there was many in the crypto/blockchain space calling it a fad and saying it wouldn't have lasting power. Well.....Kaboom! Defi hit the big B!.... A billion dollars is now locked in Defi, and it was done in a very short time frame.

When it comes to the rate of in ovation, I think that 2 years is like 5 years in Crypto. In other industries (like XR for example) not so much. Crypto is a very unpredictable industry, which is good in some ways for domaining if you want to make a fast profit. You can reg some names for an emerging keyword and if they're good will increase in value dramatically in only 2 years as opposed even more speculative, longer term predictions for other future tech industry domains...

Yes, crypto is advancing at an extremely fast pace. That can be attributed to blockchain technology. Crypto is not yet considered mainstream, but blockchains have been embraced by all major technology and financial companies. The investments with R&D into blockchain technology are enormous and as a result advancements are well above Moore's law.

At the heart of Defi is blockchain technology making this sector a rocket.
