Hi NamePros! It's certainly strange logging into an account you haven't thought about since before your high school graduation, but here we are.

I've spent the last few years employed in outbound sales roles at various tech startups, and it recently occurred to me that domaining is very conducive to the email campaigns I've learned how to run.

I've made around $350 or so in the last 2 weeks since I started up again, selling recently deleted hand-regs to end users via outbound email (all quick flips, sub $100). A few more in the pipeline that I'm hoping to close this week — mostly decent but not great geos, etc.

I'm operating on a scant budget, but ideally would like to learn how to reinvest the profits in better names. My only domaining experience is selling hand-regs at bargain basement prices... Where should I start looking when it comes to taking the next step up?

Looking forward to learning again from you all.

10 years is a long time. A lot has happened since then. Welcome back and good luck.

Welcome back!

I think, you can check auctions(expired or private) at Namejet, Godaddy, Snapnames, DropCatch etc. You can find great names at various budget. HTH,

Welcome back! Sounds like you'll be a quick study, based on recent work experience and your ability to move marginal hand regs quickly.

Usually the best prices on quality names are achieved through private deals. So the fact that you potentially have a lot of existing contacts through your work could be a big advantage there. In general, though, the more you network, the more opportunities you're exposed to.

The other key is developing a sense for what sells, and what makes a good purchase price on a quality name.

Auctions are becoming less and less reliable as a source for finding names at bargain (or even reasonable) prices. Domain investing continues to grow, and so does aftermarket competition, which means the gap between reseller pricing and end user pricing is perhaps smaller than it has ever been for good quality names.

Tons of tools, blogs, and other info are available to help get you up to speed. The community here is pretty responsive so if you ever want some info, just ask.

Hello!

Ten years away from the rapidly changing world of domain names is a long time although it surely sounds like you are returning with a solid re-entry game plan and making some $$$ while you catch up with today's domain name markets!

Welcome back!
