Hello.

Earlier had an appreciated thread about my first month in domaining in the beginner section.

https://www.namepros.com/threads/fi...-7-sales-sh-t-handregs-website-built.1147977/

But since I can't edit that post for some reason I might as well create a new one and update here.
I can today share the news that I brokered a six figure sale.

From day one I have wanted to share my journey in domaining. And I have in the Telegram Group "Domain Talk" shared alot of failed negotiations and stupid stuff I've done. But also some sales and overall impressions of the domaining industry. And now six months have gone by since I first started. And today I closed my first six figure deal. Its been under negotiation for three months. It's been a fun and nerve-wrecking negotiation. But today @Rob Monster contacted me and say the escrow is closed. Big ups to EPIK for making sure the transaction went smooth.
It's under NDA so can't share more details.
But if I can do this, anyone can, no matter what more experienced domainers say. You have to find your own beat. And fail all over again. There's been blogposts written about me where I have gotten pretty much slack and being called a troll by anonomous...trolls. As expected 😀.

However. Here is my highligts so far in domaining six months deep into the game.

• Brokered a Six figure sale via EPIK
• Sold 20-ish domains with Blockchain.za.com being the highest for $1200.
• Sold Betting.cx and Gambling.cx via Sedo iGaming auction.
• Have two $800 sales (DigitalChoo.com and another NDA-one).
• Being interviewed in Morgan Lintons blog (where I earlier had been hammered in the comments of a blogpost).
• Getting the chance to broker FinanceME.com and Finance.me. Interest has been HIGH for those ones.

Please all my newbie homies, share your positive stories also, as I get pumped by reading good stuff from people in the same boat as me.

Thanks for reading (mods, move this to the right area if this is the wrong one).

Best Regards

/Dose

I was referring to that post:

please remember that not everybody finds
"shoot to the moon"
a great idea - for every domain / for every domainer

so the value supplied here is at least questionable

There isn't any idea in existence that everybody would find as a great idea. But, all of us choose our own directions, so it's great to have these directions exposed and analyzed (before our decisions) from other people's experiencies.

@Dosebuy I would advise you to ignore the negative vibes.

This thread reminds me of the first sale I shared as well - few years have passed by but people have remained same. I was told outbound was SPAM, it was beginner's luck and what not.
@UmerK, how you still don't know this(?!):

Outbound is a spam, and all people driving BMWs are gangsters. :)

Can you shed more light regarding transaction ie any part you can share?

How did you find the "client"?

Client found me on a social media app most of us likes 😃.

Did you have an active broker agreement signed?

Nope, mutual trust proved itself fruitful here. I was happy getting the chance to broker it. And it felt like he was happy given me the chance.

How did you find the buyer?

Dont want to disclose this.

What parts of negotiation you found toughest?

The silence. There was stretches where it was radio silence in a crucial part of the negotations. I have learned to stay cool with this sale. And hopefully that will help moving forward with my own names.

Best of luck for things to come, you're doing great so far!

Thanks man. Appreciate it.

That's amazing sales...Congratulation..

The op is obviously useful. It offers encouragement to new domainers and goes on to give us some intriguing detail. It is odd that Dosebuy is being chastised for both giving too much detail and not enough detail...
Congrats - and if you want a real challenge sometime - try moving some of the crap i have collected!

Nice to see that this thread has now become a Community Favourite I see! Congrats @Dosebuy on your thread achieving that.

While obviously don't share the details, I was wondering if you were working on brokering any more domain names, or if now you are exclusively working on promoting your own domain names.

Also, perhaps answered in previous discussion, but if you had upon further reflection one additional bit of advice about brokering a major sale, what would it be? I take it from earlier comments that having courage to stay quiet for an appropriate time, and using social media effectively, would be two ideas you shared. Anything else?

Congrats again,

Bob

I can confirm that Rob sent me details of the sale, ( I did not ask for them in anyway) but happy to act as the confirmation on this sale.
Just so we all are clear, Monster sent you private details (which you did not ask for) of a sale that was not his and which was under NDA just because he felt it was the right thing to do even though it could possibly break the NDA of the broker and the confidence the seller had in the broker if the details ever got out.

Wow, that sure seems like a fucked up thing to do.

Thanks Bob. And thanks too whatever algorithm that choose this thread.
The amount of names I have been approached with has been overwhelming. So I dont take on more then I can focus on. Me working a day-job and all. Cant let my domaining get in front of that. But I do broker a package of FinanceMe.com and Finance.me. And also Cards.org which I really like also. Very valuable domains.

I also broker one other name that is in mid-to-high seven figure land. But Im not exclusive on this one and cant share because owner dont want to put the name out there. Hopefully in the future when I have closed I can share :). Im grateful for getting the opportunity and we are currently in negotations, however still pretty far from eachother.

For the actual sale I must say that one advice is to have a good communication with the seller. And be honest. I dont know everything, the owner dont know everything. Discuss the next step together and challenge eachother. This at least works for me, both in this sale and in my day job.
Other people brokering maybe have another approach, but I need to find my own stride and like working with people I can have an open communication with. Teamwork.

Thanks again Bob.

I can only say a big THANK YOU to you, @Dosebuy! Thanks to you and your success I am currently finishing my domaining website as well as Linkedin account, after probably more than a year of procrastinating to do it...! :)

With your attitude and your success after many mistakes done, you gave me a huge positive impulse and reminded me on the things I already knew - you just have to go forward, be in action, make mistakes, not to be looking for perfection at all times but through trial and error methods gradually be developing yourself and your business!

Many thanks again for your support and incentive, and expecting from you even better and bigger news of your successes from now on!

Thank you Raimond for this post. Really appreciate it. I agree with what you said about finding your own way forward, and it includes trial and error! Good luck. Give me your LinkedIn in PM and I can add you, so you can use my network. Its a bitch to start LinkedIn from scratch.

this is obviously a nice thing for op.. and some nice money made.. I assume based ona very quick read of this thread the profit to op is in the 20-40k range.

but lets be realistic about it... very few domainers broker deals... we're here to make some profit for sure.. but 99% of us do it from selling names. if opportunity presents itself for sure we'd take it. but we don't actively look for such opportunities. therefore almost no one ever here did broker a name nor will broker a name.. im just talking great majority of people. there will always be exceptions like op.

now that has nothing to do with how great this post is. how nice the profit on this sale.. im just sayin its not particularly relevant to np in terms of what most here do. cheers, enjoy the profit, invest wisely! ;)

What you say is totally true @alcy about the vast majority don't do it and don't even consider it, but what I take as the most important message from @Dosebuy domain brokering success is that maybe it would encourage others to realize that maybe they could broker a name after all.

thats one way to put it Bob. and you make great observation ....
but I personally doubt this sale will encourage domainers to suddenly become more involved in domain brokering. I can only speak for myself and say it did not have this effect. then the rest of people can answer it for themselves :) including yourself. cheers
