Now that all the reported sales data for 2019 is in, it looks like 2019 reported sales for GoDaddy were up big in 2019 vs 2018. Sedo on the other hand saw sales slip by $2.5million. Park.io had a down year in 2019 vs 2018 as well. Reported sales were off by $343,300 or 31%. A few notes about the data that are important for context include: Sedo does not report sales lower than $2,000 so … [Read more...]

I don't know how it appears for others, but for me it still looks like a very small industry. The top players have only under 30 millions in sales, that's not to much. I've checked the other players, to try to make an approximate and it looks like uniregistry had a revenue of 19 millions( including hosting and everything else) undeveloped around 15 millions, hugedomains around 10 millions. Afternic shows only $1.3 million revenue, so for me looks way to low, either a mistake or they don't sell as much as everybody is thinking. Undeveloped has reached half of the revenue of the big players(godaddy and sedo), so that's a big plus for them and huge domains has lot of revenue as well, for a company with under 10 employees in this induatry, but I would like to know their profit, because I know that they manage a pretty huge portofolio. By the number of sales and also the amounts I was estimating that the industry was close to 500 millions, but looks like the big players have only a little over 100 millions of that pie. So the rest should be private sales, including the big sales like voice.com for 30 millions and other smaller one's.

A lot of sales go unreported too.
