Domain for a Domainer??

there is something called "birddog" or "bird Dogging" it's a term in the real estate niche.

I do it every now and then. I have real estate investors I know who have paid me in the past to get find them sellers selling their properties at 10-20% below cost. My end was $2000 flat.

My area is NJ,NY.

Jersey City mostly and Brooklyn, Bronx,

I deal mostly with developers looking for big empty or preforeclosure lots.

This is essentially what you are looking for Bird Dogging or becoming a Bird Dog.

I guess it's possible. anything is possible when you put your mind to it.

Are you handregging these names? If you're indeed good at sourcing good domains, you could buy them and sell them on NP. Essentially this is the best way to capitalize on your skill because any good names would sell in an auction, thus your revenue would be maximized.

Honestly, it seems to me that if your names were that good, they'd sell themselves with a BIN. Maybe you have insider leads like WhoaDomain describes. In such case, I'd understand your predicament. But if you're buying cheap drops and handregs, if you're worth "hiring", then you're doing yourself a disservice by being hired.

I have paid many finder fees in the past when someone brought great domains to me that I ended up buying, but normally "great" domains end up being crap.

In that case, then for sure the ladies left.

I agree you should just auction them off here. If the domains really are good you can make some money off of that.

''spotters fee'' would mean you think you can buy but the name aim of the game is can you sell?
Try some fixed priced wholesale and post them here if that is your strategy.

It'd be tricky, if the names you find are truly that great, but you don't want to buy them immediately, they mightn't last. Securing great names can come down to the hour or day. And being swindled of your finders fee could be a real danger, as it would be possible for your customer to reg the name without proving it was them who regged it.
