I have a domain with a very small domain registrar, who's site says they are a Nominet Channel Partner. Despite using their online form twice, their email address and also a phone call, they aren't replying.

I would like to transfer my domain to my dynadot account, but what can I do if they won't reply? What is considered a reasonable time-frame for them to reply?

Do you have access to your domain in the account at that registrar, and if so there might (should) be settings to unlock your domain and have an auth code displayed for transfer. Otherwise, guess you're at the whim of waiting for a response from them.

An awesome registrar will reply within the hour. A good registrar typically within a few hours. There are some registrars that take a full day. Some obscure registrars can take a few days if not more.

They are an obscure registrar and there is no control panel or anything. I took the domain out with them 20 years ago. I first contacted them 2 days ago, then 1 day ago, then again this morning.

I used Google maps street view and their business address leads me to a house on an estate.

So you've been paying renewals to them for over 20 years? Try responding to one of their renewal notices, or check for any alternate contact info on the notice. Could be an individually owned registrar. Give it some time, or even post the registrar here and see if anyone is familiar with them.

You may use Nominet panel directly to transfer UK domains...
The losing registrar is not necessary - in other words.

And if any further questions - use Nominet LiveChat...

I found Nominet LiveChat, and it was very useful. I have to pay a £10 fee to transfer my domain, but it needs doing quickly so I will just pay.

Thanks for everybodies help.
