Interesting thought. Gо.соm is Disney, so they can't have that one. I'll spare us all a political rant, but personally I think we might not want to enter an era of no "Daddy". I wonder what the move would be.

Well like every other company in the World they have to ascend to a higher level both as far as political correctness (Daddy) and as far as technology (AI and Digitalization).

Companies that can make the jump early are going to be in the lead in the future.

I know you’re an AI advocate but I don’t think AI needs to be a part of a registrar’s branding. As for Daddy being politically incorrect, a polity that is offended by the word Daddy is a hopeless one. Nonetheless, you might be onto something. Who owns Go.Market?

Remember it's not just about the name change it's also about changing the mindset and the trajectory of the company.

(and at a higher level perhaps for the whole World at large).

Somebody here on NPs predicted they would rebrand as Go in 2019 or late 2018. Can anyone find that post?

Very insightful :) Maybe they could re-brand as GOD.com seeing as GO.com is not available :)

There was a member here who allegedly owned god•com

Name is using the .market. It does seem a rational move. In the same way that members here criticize others who are unwilling to pay a premium for a good domain for their portfolio site, it would send a strong message to customers if GD were to rebrand with one the new Gs it sells. “New G is good enough for us, so it’s good enough for you.” Again, Name has done it, so GD wouldn’t be the first. I see that GoMarket.com is owned by Domains By Proxy and is not for sale on Afternic. Maybe a bombshell TV commercial during the Super Bowl?

Name.com? Their .market redirects to the .com.

Oh, ok. Then GD would be the first. I only listen to the ads Andrew reads. I’ve never visited the site.

Yes going with a New G will be a game changer for the Industry, although they might choose to go with something like Go Central .com which they already own, but then them being the biggest registrar I guess everyone expects them to go with an ace of a brand.

Someone here might win the lottery if they have the right domain for them.

If most people think your new logo sucks you did great. It means people care. Within a few months from now nobody even remembers the old logo.

Fwiw, I think the new logo is great.

A pile of crap always looks like crap even when time passes, I think it will be a long time before the iconic godaddy logo is forgotten.

PS. Ask me to reproduce the AirBNB logo, unless I go there and look I have no idea, its just a tangle of curves. Same goes for the new godaddy logo.

The funniest reply I've seen on twitter is that the logo looks like a pair of testicles and if the name has therefore changed to GonadsDaddy

I read that godaddy's sales have increases by 450% since adding the new logo, and that the old one was hindering sales. This clear, abstract logo is guarantee that godaddy will be in business for years to come. We all know a logo is the most important thing even more important then price or customer service.

It's OK I prefer if they put the dude's face back in it though, years of brand recognition. Maybe they could've modernized it.

Maybe they can come up with an image that everyone can identify with, like the way that Google uses their little Android avatar. IMO

The Consequence of diversity hires

I thought diversity hiring was a good thing,
