Let's none of us forget that GoDaddy has (for quite some time now) absolutely the wonkiest UI out of most any familiar registrar. It still takes what seems like 10 minutes just to see your names! Every task is SLOW and tedious -- you can almost feel the code struggling, and sometimes you can visualize it!

Horrible. Embarrassing.

...it is possible we are all wrong and the 4 are correct :) Anyway I think GD don't care what NP members think about their new design. We are just blowing off wind, and it's not likely to have any effect on them using the new logo or not...

The great thing about whether something looks good or not is their is not a right or wrong answer. The closest thing is a group consensus and the consensus here on NO is it is crap.

That said I think we can all agree they have already chosen to to use it and a poll on NP isnt going to change their mind.

But if a bunch of domainers think it looks like a dating website because the letters GO make a heart what exactly do they think the average user is going to think of it..

That's borderline brilliant, dude.

Only borderline? I think it is much more so than GDs new logo...

Maybe it has a deeper meaning that we just don't understand, like bringing the East and the West together or creating harmony between Zen and Zan, but nevertheless I agree that at first glance it looks a little awkward.

Once they have benefited enough from all the negative publicity I am sure that they will change it again. (maybe those people know what they are doing).

IMO

I doubt it. I mean no doubt they are of the mindset that any publicity is good publicity and aren't afraid to push the envelope...Danica ads anyone? But I somehow doubt they will be changing it again anytime soon.

I said a consultation... Not a free logo designed with no input lol..

You show what you would have done if asked.

Someone else sees you do ten times better than anything godaddy paid for and you hopefully get new clients who like your work.

The best free press ever and if godaddy sees it and likes it you get to write your own payday :xf.cool:

but they got you to talk about it.

I talk about my bowel movements with the doctor too but its not necessarily something I wish to share or show to my clients.

The godaddy logo looks like a day old bowel movement to me.

I think the arrow in the G looks the best and to me says forward moving or thinking.

They should have done something more with that.

I believe the idea of the new logo was to get rid of the "Daddy" part, we are all used to the name by now, but in all honesty "Daddy" doesn't sound very professional for today's environment, I wouldn't be surprised if they changed their name altogether (maybe through a merger).

I Personally hate it!

The old one was IONIC you knew EXACTLY who you were dealing with

This new Baby 👼🏻💙🥚Light blue and and heart egg 🥚Scrambled mess looks like they are sitting up shop for a Child Day Care Center!🤦🏻‍♂️

Or a Dating Site...Godaddy is a MatchMAker now :)

They went gender-neutral. Very PC. Then again Bob P was not exactly that.

This is a new era, and I believe that they are trying to get past the old identity and persona.

Yup, just imagine all the halftime football advertising dollars wasted imprinting the brand.

Remember Palmolive... they renamed..... what is the new name? (n)

What about Royal Tissue Paper or Cascade Detergent?

Seriously, I cannot tell you what the new names are but the old ones were imprinted from the years of television commercials.

It will be interesting to see how they evolve the brand identity from the testosterone-heavy version that has defined the company from the outset.

Google changed their name to Alphabet and it seems that everyone is okay with that even though people are so used to calling them Google.

Added: when you are too big and famous I guess you can change your name and people will conform and comply to what you wish to be called and all the old advertising efforts will all transfer to the new name.

They are still called Google. Alphabet was a new holding company they created so they could sperate out other products/services from the Google brand.

Not at all the same thing.

Godaddy might want to do the same thing as with the integration of AI in the near future it is going to be more than just a registrar, I believe that like Google they already have a few subsidiaries and so they can come up with a new name for the parent company which I believe that it originally started as a software company. Nevertheless we are just giving our opinions here, I guess people at Godaddy know what's best for them, but one thing is for sure, times have changed in so many ways and everyone has to adjust their identify and strategy to match this new era.

It might be time to retire the Daddy for the good of the company. ;)

Interesting thought. Gо.соm is Disney, so they can't have that one. I'll spare us all a political rant, but personally I think we might not want to enter an era of no "Daddy". I wonder what the move would be.
