Interesting. I never knew about these free courses. I signed up. I couldn't easily find the course mentioned from a very quick glance. But I do need to improve my knowledge of DNS. I don't always agree with ICANN's policies. But I don't have any worries about learning about DNS "from the source". I hope I'm not disappointed. ICANN's documents are normally very dry and boring to get thru.

It is assumed that participants have a good understanding of dns terminology
(btw, WIPO offers distance learning course on IP , sometimes free of charge or $xx-$xxx fee)

From your initial post, it looks like a tutorial for DNS fundamentals. I have some understanding of DNS. I'm hoping this will fill in the other 80% that I have no clue about. We shall see when I take the course
