Hello.

Earlier had an appreciated thread about my first month in domaining in the beginner section.

https://www.namepros.com/threads/fi...-7-sales-sh-t-handregs-website-built.1147977/

But since I can't edit that post for some reason I might as well create a new one and update here.
I can today share the news that I brokered a six figure sale.

From day one I have wanted to share my journey in domaining. And I have in the Telegram Group "Domain Talk" shared alot of failed negotiations and stupid stuff I've done. But also some sales and overall impressions of the domaining industry. And now six months have gone by since I first started. And today I closed my first six figure deal. Its been under negotiation for three months. It's been a fun and nerve-wrecking negotiation. But today @Rob Monster contacted me and say the escrow is closed. Big ups to EPIK for making sure the transaction went smooth.
It's under NDA so can't share more details.
But if I can do this, anyone can, no matter what more experienced domainers say. You have to find your own beat. And fail all over again. There's been blogposts written about me where I have gotten pretty much slack and being called a troll by anonomous...trolls. As expected 😀.

However. Here is my highligts so far in domaining six months deep into the game.

• Brokered a Six figure sale via EPIK
• Sold 20-ish domains with Blockchain.za.com being the highest for $1200.
• Sold Betting.cx and Gambling.cx via Sedo iGaming auction.
• Have two $800 sales (DigitalChoo.com and another NDA-one).
• Being interviewed in Morgan Lintons blog (where I earlier had been hammered in the comments of a blogpost).
• Getting the chance to broker FinanceME.com and Finance.me. Interest has been HIGH for those ones.

Please all my newbie homies, share your positive stories also, as I get pumped by reading good stuff from people in the same boat as me.

Thanks for reading (mods, move this to the right area if this is the wrong one).

Best Regards

/Dose

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I see nobody pissing on anybody's success here at namepros at all

your sale is great @Dosebuy congrats again
all the best to you

it's simply not helping anybody
it's lacking the kind of name
it's lacking the kind of money
it's lacking the process

I couldn't learn anything about how to clone that success

so again congrats

but other than learn @Dosebuy is a clever guy, personally I can't get anything out of it

except:
some people are real p*ssys

Well it seems like @NamePros @Mod Team Alfa @Mod Team Bravo have to decide is this rule real or not, I know Dosebuy sale real because I saw the documentation but for future threads where someone might not be real, does 2.6 get enforced or is it just sitting there?

Here is the rule

Rule 2.6. Do not create a thread solely for the purpose of reporting a sale unless at least the item's full name (e.g., domain name or business name) and exact sale price are shared within it. The exception to this rule is showcase threads where everyone can share partial details about their sales (e.g., "the name starts with insurance and sold for $XX,XXX") in the same thread (not limited to 1 showcase thread but rule 1.13 applies).

Congrats @Dosebuy for the brokered sale!

I agree with the people saying this thread is pointless. Newbie mistake I guess, you got over excited and posted a sale under NDA, serious brokers don't do that.

Without the name and the price this is just a bragging rights drama.

I think there is value that many are overlooking. That is the message that, perhaps rarely, but at least occasionally, even someone very new to the domain world can effectively broker a high-value sale. To be honest, I personally would not have thought it was possible, so it has changed my view.

Reading between the lines, I think that a secondary important message is how social media can be helpful in initiating a lead. We have enough to know which two social media were involved, I think. Those who follow @Dosebuy on social media can learn some about his unique style.

Perhaps our response depends on how we view this. I do not view the OP as a sales report (I do realize it is in domain buying and selling) but rather as an example that even those new to domaining may be considered as brokers.

Congrats again @Dosebuy. I love the enthusiasm and innovation you, and a number of other newcomers, bring to the domain world.

Bob

Marek I did not complain the most that's untrue, in your thread I don't think I posted anything except .live can be solid with intuitive keywords. If you recall that thread got real nasty @Paul Buonopane reprimanded @JB Lions and @xynames in part some of that was comments that were mentioned about @Bob Hawkes It was the post in Namepros comments where I commented but did not complain or try to get your post closed, edited or deleted.

Raymond, thank you for bringing the information about Rule 2.6 (I had it somewhere at the back of my mind, but I was not sure). I also apologize for saying you were complaining the most, as when I recall it now, that was indeed not the case. That thread got so complex with all those edits/deletions/remarks/heat that I got a bit confused there. So my sincere apologies. Thank you! :)

So to be clear, by brokered a deal you acted as a broker on someone else’s name? Is that right? Or did you negotiate on your own name? Title and what you wrote is a bit confusing.
When one uses the term "broker" "brokering" typical use indicates an outside party working for one of the parties of interest in a transaction. You do not "broker" your own transaction.

If you saw the thread from the beginning you would know his original title said SOLD and his explanation in opening post was brokered.

Here is the rule

Rule 2.6. Do not create a thread solely for the purpose of reporting a sale . . .
The rule states "solely for the purpose of reporting a sale."

We do not believe there is any ambiguity about what that means or why that rule is not applicable to this thread. The first post in this thread contains a lot of information and is not solely about the reporting of a sale. For example, he wrote: "Here is my highligts so far in domaining six months deep into the game."

We hope that helps.

Sounds good. He brokered a deal between two (probably unrelated parties) that sold a domain.

I can confirm the transaction. The buyer’s wired funds arrived early Monday and the transaction was immediately cleared.

Buyer, seller and broker were all known to Epik. Was done commission-free for the NamePros members involved.

Congrats.
Wow thats fantastic! Well done :xf.smile:

This is almost unbelivable!
How did you manage to be broker in epik?
Are you active broker there or how??

Peter - Epik just handled the escrow intermediary part in USD and BTC.

With the few names I broker my span is between 7%-20%. This one was at the lower end of that scale.

Was it a low, mid or high 6 figure sale? Sorry I just like to know for inspiration. Keep up the good work!

As a new member who still has a lot to learn, I must say this is inspiring. One from our ranks can rise to the top very quickly!
Sure it involves a lot of hard work, luck, and diligence but it can be done!
Thank you and good luck, sir!

so you need some promotion again?

the OP had given you Kudos
.. that did the job already
...and I'm very happy to see that "promotional" link! A promotion is always welcomed when it offers some good value.
