Hi friends.
as in every January, I am about to re-evaluate my domain portfolio. Bad names need to go out!
Therefore your help would be much appreciated.
My portfolio: www.brands.international

Rules:
1.
Write 10 of my actual domain names you think are bad and I should not renew them.
(If you can advise me why in your post, that would be even better! Negative comments about particular domain names are very welcomed). When commenting about names, use word1 / extesion format (for example, happy / click), so names do not get indexed.
2.
Negative/hostile comments about me as an domain investor or negative comments about new gTLDs in general are not permitted in this thread (but feel free to use dozens of other threads for this purpose, if that helps).
3.

Post your input into this thread until end of day 14.1.2020 Prague time.
All posts after this time period are welcomed, but they will not be eligible for chance to win financial reward described below.

....................................................Aaaaaaand:.............................................................
$$$ REWARD FOR YOUR TIME & HELP $$$:
I will publicly choose 2 NP members whose posts were most helpful to me, and will pay reward of $50 to each of those authors. You will help me to save tons of money, so at least such symbolic appreciation from my side.

(Payment only via PayPal, so you need to have PayPal in order to be eligible for reward. In case you will not provide your PayPal address until 72 hours since I ask you via PM, I reserve my right to select another Namepros members instead
.)

Many Thanks :)

PS: even if you start in domaining and you are a new member, you are not new in life - so do not be afraid to criticise my domain names - this is the whole purpose of this exercise, and it will actually provide me with good feedback and other's points of view.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Interesting approach, I did two whole portfolios today (3-4k domains each) and I could do yours. Not for the reward, it's fun for me to see your ideas and figure out which may be viable future investment grade domains.

Didn't see the portfolio, perhaps send it via PM?

My portfolio is the same as my NP username (brands.international)
Thank you :)

haven't looked through your portfolio or pricing as yet. But I would certainly get rid of that home page wording and mind-numbing appearance. It doesn't convey professionalism at-all. I appreciate you've done some basic build work But, to be honest you'd do better (appearance wise) having all your domains listed somewhere.

Please don't take this as a negative comment (and off subject) I'm not a site builder either, hence I don't do my own landers either. I have come to appreciate your loyalty, investment and time you've given to Ntld's , so no negativity from me on that front

Exclusively ngtlds. May the Force be with you @Brands.International :)

Since I do not deal with nGTLDs, any and all below comments are not necessary 100% complete or optimal. So, no need to send any $$$ reward should you use some of the following:

a. Renewal fee is what matters for any ngtld portfolio. So, those with high renewal fee are the 1st drop candidates. You know better what the fees are... Make a table ordering domains by renewal fee. This should be the 1st step IMO.

b. Do not hesitate to drop .click and all other Uni-powered extensions (if any) - all Uni-powered domains you own. A potential buyer will have difficulties to find a registrar that supports their extensions, he would be unable to transfer to GoDaddy for example, and even a rudimentary background check performed by the buyer would reveal that a lot of registrars stopped offering uni extensions and why this happened...

c. I cannot "feel" (or see) who can be an enduser (ready to pay aftermarket prices) for almost all listed .gold domains, as well as for idiot dot one; No enduser = drop candidate

d. I the domain has a structure Word1+word2.extension (most notably The+<something>.market and <blah blah>for.sale) then it can be possibly safely dropped, as a potential buyer would have no issues similar but better SingleWord.SomeExtension for his project, either on aftermarket or for a reg fee

e. influencers.ltd - not sure who will call their company "influencers limited", as influencers are more frequently social media influencers - not incorporated at all, or incorporated formally (company name would be technical or random), and not necessary working as a group. Again, no potential enduser = drop candidate

Kitchenforsale is available in 700 extensions. The dotcom is listed for 28hundred. For me kitchen for sale is what I would write with a sharpie pen on a cardboard sign for a yard sale. Suggested Drop

Comedy.ltd Ltd meaning limited when I run comedy and limited through my head it seems a negative contrast.

Thestocks.market is plural. Obviously the singular thestock.market would be a category killer. This is a drop for me.

MyBio.market I don’t understand the end user for this one. What is the individual consumer buying or what is the service? Probably not renew.

Blueberry.world Other than blueberry.io having a blog named blueberryworld I see a limited pool of buyers. Probably cut this one.

Enjoying.faith seems to hint at enjoying faith trough God’s presence but as a two worder it just seems a bit cluttered against something like joyful.faith Maybe a drop.

War.click there is a developed game warclicks but I don’t see a large pool of buyers for this particular one in your portfolio

elephant.chat no use in talking to them they have bad memories they’ll never recall what was said. Would take a huge branding effort to get the name into circulation. Probably not renew.

Huge.one The name big.one is developed and active. Huge seems along the same theme but maybe less catchy.

Find.repair The extension is singular. Sounds better in plural But .repairs is not an option. So for me not a name to keep.

Some great points there, I really do appreciate that! Thank you :)

The website is notoriously bad when it comes to design, as I have designed and created it by myself :xf.smile: But no plans to change it for now, I want to be independent and this way I can make changes quickly by my own means, no need to contact some webmaster. What bothers me a little is pretty slow loading time of the website, but it is what it is.

If you list some of the names you think I should drop, some chances are that $50 can fly to UK (not that you would need it, I think, but still, it is a bottle of nice wine) :)

so far only @tonyk2000 and @Domaindogged are eligible for $50 .. more comments are welcomed :)

It's certainly a generous offer by you and I was tempted But, I think there are two distinct camps here. Pro Ntld members who probably themselves find it difficult to be critical of any of their own holdings, let alone someone else's domain list.

Then we have the Non-ntld players (myself included) I think most of us are of the opinion that at the start you've gone on a bit of a random spending spree and what you have actually ended-up with a mixed bag of pretty-awful to some so-so domains. To be fair to you, anybody taking on the task is probably going have to put in a hours work or two, otherwise they're not going to get past the letter C in your alphabetic listings.

I do think you made a rod for your own back in some of your earlier postings most seemed at just harnessing likes (clicks) and not taking to well to criticism (agree some of it was a bit harsh but fair - including me)

Which I suppose also brings us to a possible group 3, They will forever see a bit of a cynical reason behind all your posts. I do think you've mellowed and that's great but, it's going to take a while to regain confidence of the membership that probably could input some valid opinion

Well, my friend, I think you are mistaken - I have not mellowed. But the fact is that my largest, let's call it friendly opponents @Kate and @dordomai with whom I had most of those heated discussions are not active at forum anymore, while most people now take new gTLDs much more seriously (and I think some of them are now pretty sorry that they kind of missed the boat, reading about more and more new gTLD sales, which are also getting higher and higher as time pass). And it is just a beginning, we all know that.

So honestly, there is almost no one to argue with anymore ... which can be even boring sometimes :)

I'm no expert or looking for any payment but hopefully will help a little! had a quick look at the "domains by extension one" tab (it's just what I would do personally and may not be correct for you)

.sale - I would only keep faster - due to how many ext's available in the others + all are multiple words - and instead use the cash from all the rest on one or two premiums like car.sale, boot.sale or quick.sale kinda thing

.live - would drop freevideos, creditcard/(s), creditscore/(s), don't think they match the quality of the others

.market - would drop all of them due to multiple words and using article the at the start

.show - maybe drop jokes, as plural

.life, .express, .ltd, .world, .plus, .zone, .faith, .love, .gold - all good

This may help you determine which .tld you want to continuously invest on.

TLD-RANK.png

However, if you wanna hedge your bet on all .tlds still even after considering their traffic ranking potential, here are the specific domains that you may opt to not renew:

.Life
1. enjoying.life
2. insuring.life
3. achieving.life

Compared to the other domains with .life tld, these 3 have fewer search volume potential and are not as appealing as the others as a brand (enjoy.life and insure.life are more apt).

.World

Same goes for:
4. improving.world

.Live

You may also wanna remove:
5. wifes.live
since plural of wife is wives, not wife.
(people will search for wife or wives not/rarely wifes.)

wives-wifes.png

.Gold

6. Her.Gold (depends on your target market. Will largely limit your client base though).
7. Being.Gold ( Can't think of a market who'll search for these keywords. Searched for the keywords too, and found no commercial context. Not brandable. You might have had something in mind though when you chose this.)

.Faith

8. enjoying.faith (verbs ending with -ing doesn't sound apt for brands.)

Rarely do surfers search for verbs + ing too unless they're searching for the meaning of the word.

.Market

9. YourSuper.Market
10.YourFood.Market

Unnatural flow/cutting/clipping of statement when you read them as domains (YourSuper dot market, YourFood dot market).
It would have helped if your is a word commonly searched for, along with the words: supermarket and food market, but it's not, ergo it's an unnecessary 4-letter word addition to the length of your domain.

Happy New Year!

Yeah. <..>+ing are not bestsellers even in .com - so can likely be safely dropped from any nGTLD portfolio

Thanks @Anne L. for great feedack.

It was very interesting to learn which sites are ranking highest atm for particular TLD - I was not aware of this! Also nice (from my perspective) to see that some very bad names for those TLDs are ranking so highly.

Great catch for wifes/wives.

I would disagree (but I respect your opinion) about enjoying / life - it is actually my personally most favourite new gTLD domain name - name like enjoy / life seems to me kind of too directive for that purpose, and thus does not go well with the meaning of enjoyment - but of course, that is purely personal preference, and it is very interesting to see that some of you would drop it.

Thanks again for your feedback, much appreciated :)

Here is my input, hope you find them helpful.

1. reach/life
what does this actually mean? Reaching what in life? or reaching life itself when we are dead or unborn? in this case we cannot buy this domain name anyway

2. unfriendly/life I can't think of any use of this domain name. yes life can be unfriendly, but it is a rarely used adjective for life, (it is common for describing people). And lets assume we have this rare occasion of someone using unfriendly to describe someone's life, would that rare occurrence lead to an interest in this domain name. Not during my unending/life

3. unending/life unending is not a common English word. your other domain name neverending/life means the same and is used much more.

4. undersea/life not bad but also undersea not as common as the usual words of marine and underwater

5. enjoying/world does not ring well in English. need an article, like enjoying the world, or if you are describing the world then must be enjoyable or entertaining

6. wifes/live should be wives/live, wives is the plural of wife. get rid of it for sure

7. massive/gold dont see any use for it. Other gold domain names you own may work as a business name related to gold or an utility like transfer. but this one it just doesn't work for anything.

8. unhappy/love dont see what website can be built on this.

9. cheetah/plus: Is there any specific reason why you are interested cheetah with plus? would you take any other animal with a plus or cheetah has some other reference when they come with a plus...?

10. idiot/one: I don't see any use of this too.

@postscripter Some excellent feedback for me there, much appreciated, thank you :)
Will definitely get rid of some names based on that, it will save me money. The "wifes" thing is really kind of embarrasing and devaluates my whole .live adult portfolio, so I will edit it right away!

Thanks again.
