How many times have you accidentally forgot to renew a domain, or were going to do it but thought you will do it in a few days, or in a few more days, only to find that it had gone past the redemption and grace period.

(by not selecting the autorenew option on the domain)

and did you get a chance to re-register it at the same price?

or somebody bought it instead and beat you to it, which caused you to kick youself all day! :rage:

0 times.

There are, however, domains I have dropped and I periodically check on with a sort of "eh, I should register this again, it's a good one" but I don't because maybe just maybe it isn't a good one.

I have lost domains due to expiration because they were ccTLDs or drop catches that were at obscure registrars or registries. THIS is why it is useful to consolidate domains into one or two registrars that you check often.

0 by mistake, which is surprising given my memory for other things :xf.grin:

I do have a handful I regret not renewing, one in particular. I spend in domaining only what I make from domaining, and it came up when I had spent all money I made. I debated a lot on it, but had no inquiries, so let it go, but regretted it after. Not giving name as I hope someone will hold for a year and then I will get it back.:xf.wink:

0, it is impossible to forget when registrars are bombing your inbox daily...
I even filter some very annoying registrars... and manually monitor them...

I use heavy stuffed excel sheets. No chance to miss. Want to try some tool for keeping all domain info, excel is not enough for me. I would use access as more-dimentional, but kill me if i have time for learning something new.

I do use a spreadsheet as well, and as mentioned above by others, the registrars I use are pretty persistent with the reminders. Also, any name I really care about I keep renewed at least several months prior to expiry, just in case some personal circumstance takes me offline for a month or two. I have renewed at the day before regular rate ended, but that was mainly domains I did not feel too strongly either way. I actually now have none of mine on auto-renew: for a time I had a few set that way, but now the few that are absolutely critical I have renewed 2 to 10 years in advance so don't find the need.
