Why do some titles have "..." only and no domain description?

Asking a silly question since I am a newbie to this website :). I have seen some threads that contain only "Sold" or "Over" in Title and "..." or a lot of information in Description. Why?

I know "..." is a boost or bump for the post and "Sold" or "Over" may be for others to let know that this is sold and they don't have to waste time by coming to this thread. Also, it might be that they don't want others to know how much the Domain was sold for. Or there might be some other reason also.

I am just confused. Can someone please enlighten on this. TIA.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
It is just editing but the editing of titles can change whole context in some threads.

Can you please explain this part - "but the editing of titles can change whole context in some threads"?

Ok if a thread title is edited after comments are made in a discussion thread then what is previously discussed is then irrelevant or appears to have a different meaning.

Hello,

Generally, you will only see that in the marketplace and in appraisal requests.

It is the method used by some members (e.g., sellers) to remove the domain name(s) from the title of the thread so that it will not show up in search results (eventually), assuming the domain does not appear elsewhere in the thread.
  • Tip: It's better to space out the domain name instead (e.g., e x a m p l e . c o m) to accomplish the same thing.

We hope that helps.
