Mine:

HeatingFuel.org

I think the net sold recent at auction for over $1,000 and is reg to Frank Schilling (I think) or his business name. This org name was dropped after 6 years according domain tools. Since I run woodpelletfuel.org with great serp's this can make a good addition. I find it boring though.

Love the names.

But was turned off when I noticed you were double posting.

https://www.namepros.com/threads/yo...-day-no-handregs.756868/page-347#post-7538872

So, what are these, hand regs, or snap?

Hand reg = you search for the name, see it available, and register it, by hand.

Snap = Back order, or drop catch so to speak. Meaning, you see search the name, find it unavailable to purchase at that second, so place a snap, or backorder, so a 3rd party (usually a registrar(s) or person with a VPS loaded with a dropcatching program that has registrar API access) registers the domain for you on your behalf. eg a machine registered domain so to speak.

If you are knowingly and intentionally double posting, that's not cool. I'll just leave it at that because you appear new to nP, and I appreciate your contributions thus far. Hoping to steer you in the right direction. ✌

I've been wanting to register these 2 for a long time and finally got one yesterday and the other one today. A little southern slang in a high tech world always makes me grin.

The thread says "Your reg of the day" , not "hand regs". These are dropped and registered right after dropping. So they are in between a Snap and a Reg. They could qualify as either.

There is no dropcatch involved. Registered manually, however they aren't truly what people refer to as "hand regs". Some are available for minutes, others even after hours. So these are also regs.

I'm going to post on the Snap thread from now on. Didn't see this coming.

Or, perhaps, I shouldn't post at all reg names from now on. Tried to give back by showing these names, but I guess it backfired in a way I don't like, so I think I should refrain from doing so. Check my other posts and you'll see the general direction.

Edit: Now I'm really upset. First off it was double posted due to an interpretation. That might be wrong I admit. Otherwise I thought it was clear that I'm not doing myself a favor by posting these here, especially with the additional details. These are intended to give ideas to others, well, that's wrong for a domainer as you lose money by teaching others your angle. So I won't post regs anymore.

Exactly!

And you posted in the correct section.

You must be misunderstanding me.

DO NOT post hand regs in the purchase or snap of the day thread.

That is why this thread exists for your registration of the day.

The below quote is from the opening post of the purchase or snap of the day (no hand regs) thread.

This thread is NOT for registered Domain Names which you found available.

This is only for domain names which you bought from other people or which you snapped with Backorder Services like Snapnames, Namejet, Godaddy, etc.

Check your other posts? I've seen some, probably even liked a few.

But one thing I noticed, is you are over paying for your hand registered domains, considering you're doing so in bulk.

You may think Name.com's $6.99 per domain is the cheapest right now, but it's not. But you're smart. If you want a cheaper registration you'll find it.

Thanks - for certain reasons I use a limited number of registrars. But if you have some tips to share, a PM is appreciated, that's alright if not.

As for the domains, since what I'm doing is perhaps harder to define (a mix of auto and manual reg, depending on the momentary situation) and given other factors I will refrain to post new registrations from now on.

No, it's actually very easy to define. I don't know why you insist on making this difficult, trying to make it something they aren't, and in the process, perhaps confusing or deceiving somebody into thinking otherwise.

Keep posting them here as they belong. Stop posting them where backorders or other purchases, besides domains you find available to register, are supposed to go.

That's fine with me.

Thanks for the pricing tip, indeed you were right.

In the decades that I've been part of the community I have had plenty of people mention concerns about trademarks etc etc. Of course, there have been some well documented trademark lawsuits in the past, however, in my experience, as long as you are not defaming the trademark or pretending that you ARE the trademark it's usually not a problem. Sales happen without issue. But buyer always beware as one can never say never.

I can see that argument, especially with fan sites and what not, but isn't there also an argument of intent to profit to be concerned and aware of. Thus, parking, and quoting offers could lead to legal issues. Hence my questioning of your thinking prior purchase, to get a feel for your intent.

Some may say, well it's just $8, and I've paid nintendo $100's over the years in products/services, so if it comes down to it, giving them an $8 domain, is just another one of their contributions to the gaming ecosystem; because better in their hands than somebody intending ill purposes.

Just in case any newer members are seeing this, because let's face it, for whatever reason newer members enjoy coming to this thread more than legacy members, and seeing TM's regged, I feel it should be worth noting risks or restriction of use that come with such a name.

I still remember when -go first came out, and domaingang did a nice piece on a UDRP

https://domaingang.com/domain-law/pokemon-domains-udrp-arrived-14-years-later/

Now, as you pointed out, it appears this case could have been brought to nintendos attention because of the way they used the site. Noted, via archive.org, the first entry doesn't contain a not affiliated disclaimer, but the second entry does...

https://web.archive.org/web/20160302215252/http://pokemonsunmoon.com:80/ (no disclaimer)

https://web.archive.org/web/20160306203023/http://pokemonsunmoon.com/ (disclaimer)

The disclaimer states:

POKÉMON IMAGES & NAMES © 1995-2015 NINTENDO/GAME FREAK. THIS SITE IS FOR POKEMON NEWS AND RELATED SUBJECTS. NON-PROFIT WEBSITE.

Nonetheless...

when you clicked the pre-order button, it redirected you to an affiliate amazon link of the game fulfilled by nintendo. Does that mean nintendo was paying the domain owner money for every purchase made via the link? :xf.rolleyes:

The link:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...as2&tag=pokeunlock-20&linkId=PUI35PKXDKRPOALX

Will they still get money for purchases from the archived affiliate link? lol

I see what you're going for, Financial Exchange? Maybe in New York? lol...

To me, I get confused, when first trying to remember it... was it F i n n e x / F i n n i x / F y n n i x / F y n n e x?

Still, I like the approach. Hopefully somebody in Fin see's more obvious value than me. Maybe even a New Yorker lol.
