Hey all,

John here from the New Jersey Shore area. I was looking into selling my domain, which I never knew you could do! I purchased a DN for a project, unfortunately, the people who were supposed to help me with the project seemed to think that "Team" mean "To Execute Alone Man".... needless to say, I dropped the project, so now I have a DN I no longer need.

I don't know how accurate those free site appraisals are. but I got values between $75-$168 USD. I didn't add the domain to this introduction post as I didn't think that would be the right place to put it.

About me, I have over 2 decades in IT, starting from Tech Support, Data Center Ops, Development Support Engineer, and Systems Admin. So I have seen IT from every angle, and to this day I still enjoy it, even though I got sick and can't work anymore, so I am stuck on Disability.. Now, I just do some business and IT consulting on the side when I can and pwn a small home based retail business for Outdoors, Hunting, Camping and Preparedness Gear. As if my luck couldn't get worse, I broke my back about 1 year and a half ago, so my business had to be put on hold, so I get to look at my cool inventory that's left, and sometimes I will sell some stuff on those Mobile Apps where you can buy and sell.

I'm also the Admin of a couple Facebook Groups, 1 being a Buy & Sell Groups for First Responders, with over 65 Thousand Members, as having been a Fire Fighter, EMY, and OEM, prior to getting sick, I really enjoy running that group.

So, hopeful my intro did not roll too many eyes, lol, I wasn't quite sure what to write, but after Registering on the site here, it suggested I create and Intro Post... :) So if anyone has any suggestions on how to best sell a domain, I would really appreciate the advice. My Registrar offered a free service to Park the Domain for free using Sedo, however, it seems from what I could gather from listing it there, unless your in the Premier Listing thing, or you pay fees which would be more then I paid for the domain, and I doubt my domain is worth near what the appraisal sites indicated. Those prices seemed too high, but I would be excited and could definitely pay some bills if I got what they suggested!

In the meantime, I am going to be working on creating a Collaborative Site for the First Responder Group in FB I mentioned earlier which will be like a Documentation Manager and a place where we can share information about listings, and members. So thats going to be fun!

Hope to get some great advice from you guys, Glad to be a new member!

Cheers!

John

Sorry to hear about all your bad luck! Was your plan to just sell the one domain, or to start buying and selling domains going forward? Either way best of luck to you! :)
