I have around 60 domains listed on Sedo

I lowered the min offer for almost every domain to $200

NOT 1 bid

imo many are not junk, u may think otherwise but who cares

this is my last foray into domaining once they expire

total waste of $ and time and ive done this for 10 years

its gotten worse and worse unless you own aged .com domains or simply luck out.

too many gtlds choices for buyers. too bad it was fun while it lasted

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I have about 1.6K domains listed there. Min offer set at $100.

Not a single offer.

Getting offers and sales everywhere else, Dan, Afternic... etc

Edit: If you've done this for 10 years, you should be doing better; or something is wrong.

I've computed today my sales projection for next 24 months and it's been quite good even if taking all the worse numbers into account. Even sort of crappier names have actually sold.

So the game is still rolling great. Especially on .coms which I deal into, but also selling .org.

Just listings never worked on Sedo, except some very liquid domains. Because almost all users there - just another domainers.
They must be parked to get bids.

Even parked, still no offers.

Let's assume we have some good domains.
We list these good domains on Sedo with parking and even Sales Landers.
After how long should we expect to start getting offers ?

Six months, 1 year, 2 years , or ?

Can paid Home page Show cases expedite the offers and overall sales at Sedo?
Does anyone have such experience ?

Thanks

With portfolio of 500+ decent domains - it should be at least few enduser sales yearly...

Don't pay any promotional fee, unless your domain is liquid and your 100% sure that it Will sell. Just list there and at other marketplaces. I personally want to sell, no matter where.

Somehow i think afternic better than sedo

The general psychology of promotion comes from the fact that we wish to sell old domains faster to create liquidity for registering new domains.

Secondly we are apprehensive about the real value of existing domains.
And by just listing the domains them, they get very less exposure and have low chances of sale.

It's like long term investment vs short term liquidity.
The cash flow is just not there with waiting..
I know that some would say that this is a wrong way of looking at Domain sales.

Also, what happens is that if we are unable to sell domains and remain passive about it.
Than we get busy with our stuff and all of a sudden we realize that we have a long list
of domains to be renewed.
And than we just liquidate a majority of them at throwaway prices.
Obviously because the list is too big to be renewed..
So, that throwaway liquidation or even drops after so many previous renewals is quite a loss.

Perhaps we need a proper long term strategy with good domain selection ..

This is human nature, emotion, fear of loss and irrational decisions.

It's the same anywhere else. In stocks, in crypto, in anything investment.

Domainers should first of all know themselves. I would say for whoever is yet unclear about things, find out what kind of names you have, good, medium or bad. Find out what kind of domainer you are, either long, market or clearance style. Decide if you do inbound, outbound or both. Then apply that - consistently. There's nothing inherently wrong with either method, each has its pros and cons. But it is wrong to move all over the place cause you are unsure and can't find yours.

And for God's sake, learn to price accordingly with your choices above.

And how to get better domains, if it's the case - and too often is the case and I cringe seeing what names people often go for. Yeah everyone has a bad from time to time, but when your everyday pick is like that, it gives me the chill down the spine.

Because those domains are displayed on GoDaddy. That's why.
In all other aspects - Sedo is better.
