Hi everyone!

I am establishing a creative agency recently, but I am torn apart between .UK and .ME. I have the agency name in both extensions while all other extensions are not available. Here's what I've been considering:
  • Agency provides creative services for the English speaking world (mostly USA, but also UK) — this is why .UK seems more appealing
  • The studio itself is based in Montenegro (ME country code), this is why .ME makes more sense, but western people perceive .ME in a completely different context — such as a personal blog or website
Which extension would you go for if you were in my position?

I don't have the budget to purchase .com at this stage and it's ridiculously expensive.
Thank you in advance for your help and input!

Global = .COM
UK = .UK
US = .COM first and then, maybe, .US.
Not sure about .ME as it is very much a small player when it comes to global branding.

If you are just establishing, then you have chance to brand using a .COM. Don't get fixated on one .COM domain name that's already registered. Just use some creative abilities and come with a brand that you can register across all TLDs that dominate your target markets. If you are not doing country-specific marketing, redirect them all to your primary brand website.

Go with the .me if the choice is just between the two ext.

Funny enough I was debating on the same thing not long ago. I went with the .me over my other choices ( .co.uk & .uk ) as I wanted something which can work globally and more of a personal brand.

Best of luck

It should be noted that Google considers .me as generic domain and .uk as geo-specific. If you need to buy from aftermarket, go with .me or other options proposed by others. If the domains are available for hand register, and you can afford the renewal cost, get both as defensive registration.

Between those two options I would choose .me for sure since it is considered global.

If at some reasonable price .co could be bought would consider that or some of the other TLD options mentioned. Or a slight name change to get .com.

Best wishes,

Bob

If you must choose between the two, I'll bet my money on .me.

I will personally opt for a variation of the agency name that has a .com available, like Bob suggested.

I would go the geo targeting for sure on the dot UK the dot me is CC for Montenegro not quite the UK. Use UK it will also be a solid extension or use dot agency to go for a type in.
Banned on second post very strange..

I personally prefer .me.
.uk lost it, was introduced too late after co.uk, org.uk, etc...

Go with .UK as it's good for branding.
