A San Francisco nutjob is in jail after threatening to shoot GoDaddy employees in Sunnyvale, California.
Could this apparent domainer be angry about a 60 day domain lock? We are not sure, but for now, he’s found himself locked up in the county jail...

I can imagine dealing with their 60 day locks can drive a man insane so it is a plausible explanation:).

Yeah - No need to get angry at godaddy. Just steer clear of them.

From the article:

"A GoDaddy spokesperson confirmed that {name removed} is neither a current, or a previous GoDaddy employee:"

I guess they've got that going for them...

Thoughts with GoDaddy employees who must have been stressed by this threat.

Godaddy's account locking and threats of account locking have always seemed like a "shoot first, ask questions after" approach. They threatened me once with account lock just for asking a question. So this nameless individual at least gave some warning.

Maybe he should have threatened to glue the locks of Godaddy HQ? Maybe dealing with the Afternic interface pushed him over the edge, but threats of violence are not right and not funny.

Ok one other thing - this happens if you own your own name as a domain - you get an email saying Joe Smith has expired in the subject line and you think WTF I am still alive... that really is a shock but you should read the email to find it is just a domain, not a funeral announcement. Happened to me, a real shocker.
