If only three days remaining for domain to expire, what are the options, If you have another registrar who is offering less price for renewal and can put on auction. is it possible to transfer domain from one registrar to another before renewal or I have to renew it before transferring (I have 3 days left to renew it). Hope to get answers
thank you

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
When you transfer it, you pay for 1 more year of renewal. You do not need to renew before transferring.
I hope I'm clear on this. Make sure that the new registar is a good one. Simply look on these forums to find out if they are good.

thanks CJ, some of them says it will take 72 hours to transfer. now I have less than three days, but when I check it on GoDaddy, it says you cam transfer domain in a few minutes, I think they just said that it will take 72 hours, but most of them they transfer it fast.
thanks once again

It depends on the losing registar. Are you transferring TO or FROM GoDaddy? If from, you can speed it up. Other registars let you speed it up, as well.

Just pay the renewal either you have faith in your speculation or you don't if a couple of dollars effect that try some thing you don't have to actively sell after you buy. With domains you have to make the effort to sell what you leave behind will always be cleaned up.

You may transfer even after Expiration Date...
Up to 45 days...
Exact duration depends on registrar, but usually no less than 30 days after ED.

When you change the registra, the domain is placed on 60 day transfer lock. So if you transfer to GoDaddy, you can’t really sell the domain for 60 days unless the buyer also uses GoDaddy (in which case you can do push).

Not always.
It depends on registrar... they can set this 60 day lock or not - according to their own policy.

Some registrars like Dynadot fully rely on the corresponding registry...
Verisign, Neustar, Donuts don't lock their TLDs for 60 days. They can be transferred at any time.
