Hi NPers,

Am here again with another mind bothering question.

What Are The Evergreen Keywords To Target As A Domainer?

Though I focused on expired domains that have high Domain authority and Backlinks for SEO via my website.

But I do know that most domainers focus on brandable more than SEO of the site.

Thus, will like to have us discuss and share our experience on the keywords new domainers building their portfolio should look out for that guarantee to have buyer short or long term.

So, in case of no sales, they rest assured that the good and bright offer days are ahead because the domains are evergreen.

For example pronounceable English domains with keywords like health, loan etc. are evergreen

Thanks for your contribution in advance!

There are trendy domain keywords that may boom but not survive the test of time but some keywords brandable domain will always eventually get buyer no matter how long it takes.

A quick Google search would answered your own question - when I put my spreadsheet together for keywords it took 5min to find these words plus many many others......I have also previously posted a similar list and a longer one for verbs, nouns etc on this site - quick search would of located of them......

You come across as a spoilt brat, I don't tell you something and you throw your toys out the pram...what a joke.

Another example of someone who wants something for nothing and cant be bothered doing it themselves.

Putting you on ignore so I don't have to read your drivel anymore

Some people are never bloody happy, you provide a list and they still want more without doing the bloody work themselves

Where did you see " knowing everything and number 1 domaining " from the above statement? Knowing what works for you does not mean you know it all.

@oskaaay - So your Evergreen means Strong Keywords? That doesn't really match up with your definition too well "There are trendy domain keywords that may boom but not survive the test of time but some keywords brandable domain will always eventually get buyer no matter how long it takes."

The domains at Evergreen are definitely matching the standard of evergreen domains :xf.smile:.

Now being serious, I had not encountered the term before. So it means quality domains with desired keywords that over a reasonable period of time would be expected to generate offers, even if none have yet been received. Is that about right?

So are evergreen names by definition .com, or could a powerful tech term in .io be considered an evergreen domain name? Or not, because the long term future may be less clear?

I guess I see the analogy as just like evergreen trees keep their leaves, and evergreen domain name has value characteristics that will never go away.

Please correct me if I am wrong in my interpretation. That would though be the third time I have been wrong today on NamePros :xf.eek:.

This is a very helpful thread and an important lesson for every domain school. Thanks for starting it @oskaaay

I do not ask about an Evergreen but start earlier: What is a keyword?
  • Is it an important term for SEO?
  • Is it an often searched term in search engines? "SERP"
  • Is it a popular search term for domain searches? Doesn´t Verisign publish a monthly list of most used words in .com and .net registrations? TLDinvestors.com and Onlinedomain.com are reporting about it I believe.
  • TLDinvestors also report monthly about sales of domains with top keywords like media, capital, crypto, coin and some more.
  • Is a keyword nowadays the popularity of the Top Level Domain represented by the generic word of the nTLD?
  • Lists like the one of @MrAcidic - thanks for sharing - are useful but too large and not recommended for any possible combination. Many domainers will use similar lists. How about a synthesis of those lists resulting in a Evergreen TOP 100?
  • Interesting would be deeper knowledge of data gurus who run services like Estibot and Namebio. Is a forecast possible?
And if we know all the answers, how using them for domain registrations and purchases in a reasonable way?

(I deleted my last sentence which expressed the hope that someone like @Bob Hawkes could deliver easyer to digest solutions. He already posted before me.)

This is an insightful contribution. Yeah it could be on other extension as well but evergreen domains should stand the test of time and such domainer holding them knows for sure, it could take 1year, 5years, a decade but the cool offer will eventually come for it because it remains valuable for years.

Keyword is an integral part of SEO. It is what search engines like Google pick from search terms to crawl their database and show relevant results. You might have noticed Google returning a result of a long term search and highlighting in bold one or two of those long search question, those are the keywords.

For example, a domain like WashingtonEcho.com has a major authoritative city keyword which is Washington, the capital of USA and such keyword could make the domain evergreen as you sure someone someday will just want to start up something in or outside that state and need to carry the name to leverage its worldwide authoritative view.

Aside from that, Washington as a keyword grabs almost a million average monthly searches on Google.com alone....just like the Echo also gets over 700,000 monthly searches.

The above is an example of evergreen keywords in play to help a domainer pick domains that will stand the test of time and not just a bubble.

Really nice list @Blitzpotz - clear and comprehensive.

Re Verisign, as I understand it their monthly lists never provide actual numbers, and their methodology looks not at absolute, but changes, so a term that seldom was registered, and suddenly has a lot of registrations, might make their list even though another term with more absolute month after month would not. I therefore find their monthly lists sort of interesting but I would not use them at all for evergreen. I like the idea of the TLDInvestors monthly reports, although as you note he only covers certain words.

Beyond how searched something is, some terms are more valuable long term due to other characteristics like positive, etc.

I agree that Estibot, GoValue, NameBio, etc. have lots of data to bear on this, although probably not in their interest to share it too much.

Perhaps it is rather difficult to very precisely distinguish which terms will have a long term holding value beyond some really obvious ones.

Anyway, great topic.

Bob

PS Would be a fun exercise to have a NamePros time capsule, ask some of the gurus of domain names to list x terms they feel will have high value in 10 years time, then sock them away and the NamePros members of 2029 unveil them and see how right they are.

Washington DC is the capital city, Washington is a state

the attempt to put a evergreen label on terms here is failing
and your analysis of what makes what, is off by a mile

The above is an example of evergreen keywords in play to help a domainer pick domains that will stand the test of time and not just a bubble.

that example is a very poor one.
especially when you just throw two words together that don't compliment or enhance the other.

imo...
