If you use a major registrar, employ 2FA and other security steps, and are vigilant, I think most would be good choices.

If I had very valuable names, as @ollybod suggests I would seriously consider transfer to Epik because of their minds-on approach and staff presence here on NamePros. If something seemed strange with a domain I would have confidence I could quickly get an honest response from Epik and they believe strongly in domainer rights and due process.

Epik.com also dont forget to ask @Gube or @Rob Monster himself to make your account as domain investor account and get all the incentives and benefits for being domainer or as NP member.

Thank you all for answering. So consensus is pretty clear its Epik, i am right away creating an account and transfer my domains there.

I was coming in here to say Epik, as well.

They've never lost a domain and their CEO @Rob Monster is always active here.

Thanks for that -- your account was upgraded to the NamePros' deal.

The main thing that we are probably doing that is different than other registrars is co-creating with the industry. We have methodically engaged the NamePros community as stakeholders in building a better set of solutions without consideration for who gets credit, or who makes money. If things can be free, then we make them free, e.g. free escrow but also much more like free WHOIS privacy that is for real. We are also hiring folks in the industry, e.g. here.

@Pat8 is the India country manager.

Also, if you are new to domaining, check out the discussion about a free online course for domainers. The NP community has been giving great input on this free tool.

Welcome and good luck!

Epik 100%....I created my account there about a week ago after being encouraged here by some members and bought around 25+ Domains there since...Price per domain includes everything from privacy to free parking to analytics to free estibot appraisal etc... can't wait for 60 days to be over at other registrars so that I can transfer another 50+ Domains to epik..and plus blackfriday is around the corner and I'm sure they will have the best deals ever😊

In terms of security I trust these the most:
1- Dynadot
2- Name.com
3- Epik

I use Dynadot more than any oher, it has some strong features like for example even if logged you cant do any change to the domains without unlocking your accoung first where you need to enter a secret date you set for account security (birth of date or any date you want), they have also free privacy and ssl.

GoDaddy. With 2FA is my choice.

That is a valid point, but Epik also has a small sample size compared to other major registrars.
They had around 350K total regs last time I checked vs 60M at GoDaddy.

If you have far more registrations there are going to be more issues just based on the sheer numbers alone.

Ones I would definitely avoid are Network Solutions and Moniker. They have had major security issues in recent years.

Yes, Brad pick the registrar which charges you ~$18 .com, unless u pay annual or own 500+.

GD de-facto monopoly, which Epik will surpass

Porkbun of course. nothing else
I have tried name.com, namesilo, dynadot, godaddy, uniregistry, epik all of them don't provide an experience like porkbun.

maybe they won about the price but not experience

Epik. One of the others mentioned in this thread took a domain from me with no explanation. Besides, Rob and his team are active here...that helps when/if there is an issue. Smaller guys always try harder no matter what industry.

If you open an account with them and you are not happy, I will give you a free domain (ok, I will admit it, it won't be one of my top tiers!) :xf.wink:

Hi Rob

Is here anything special that you can offer being a NP member? Can you upgrade my account also? I have an Epik account with 35+ domains.

GoDaddy!
GoDaddy!!
Godaddy!!!

The older in business the better,

It still boils down to Age factor just like in domains.

An aged domain the say is better, the more aged the better.

Epik is astonishing and have great deals but if you look at terms of who is older in business, then GoDaddy is your registra to choose, if you want a discount from Godaddy subscribe for there discount program 9.99$/yr

The older in business the better,
But if we truly went with oldest that is definitely Network Solutions, and people including in this thread have expressed concerns (I have never used them so can't comment personally). I think age can be a measure of stability but a registrar that is 25 years old is not necessarily better than one 8 years old in my opinion.

So Happy I was able to pull a point from these post

I made that post to point out a fact

and Two veterans have agreed to it directly

"AGE OF A DOMAIN DOES NOT MATTER WHEN IT COMES TO DOMAINING"

many people I have come across condems handreg or a domain that is just few months old
and I keep saying is not by "AGE"
(1) knowledge/understanding, (2) funds, (3) Need (4) Want (5) indebt research (6) consistency/perseverance and (7)grace is all that matters in these industry.

Domain king tweeted on his purchase of Yapee.com for $1,400 (it was reg these month) and I was shocked.:xf.grin:

So just as Age of registra don't matter so do Domains names.

I'm using Uniregistry and so far a happy client of them as my registrar. But the prices are bit high compare to other registrars.
