I'm a garbage miner. Everyday, I go to the garbage dump of expiring domains to try to find one tiny nugget of 'gold'. While this is fun, I can't do it without tools. Recently, I was given a complimentary membership to try a tool called dotDB. So, today I'll talk about my experience in using it to research domains.

For a start, I just enter the name of an expiring domain and press the Search button, then dotDB spits out all related domains it can find. The first row displays domains with exactly the same name but on different extensions, and the remaining rows list domains with similar names on .com as well as other extensions.

Thanks for sharing. Checking the tool out now. Interestingly why I was digging the expired domain garbage too a few hours ago. I also found a goldmine .com (AskAnita/com) domain which I discovered was registered since 1998 and there are about 3 extensions in use by businesses. Hoping for a better offer on it soon by God's grace.

I do see difference using Dofo and DotDB for how many extensions are registered for a keyword. Always good to check both of them.

Anyone using the premium paid subs for this site?

I use dotDB's Expert plan, their Bulk Search is a killer feature which makes me able to find hidden gems from tons of expiring domains everyday.

Would you be kind enough to share on how do you use that option?

Thanks for your message. Could you please share your feedback with me and @Kemal G ?
Why do you think dofo isn't accurate?
Many times Dofo shows that extensions too in registered extensions which were earlier registered but now available for hand reg. It happened with me few times.

Also Dofo shows the old price of the domains not updated price.

Thanks for your feedback but without getting more details on the issue you mention, it's not possible to say something. If you say the specific case, the time you check, the domain name, etc. we can deeply investigate to check if any issue exists. Sometimes, especially for ccTLDs the data are being updated slowly but whenever a user visits/check a domain name or keyword, we real-time update the availability and whois info.

As for the prices, we show what we get.
We get the prices from the marketplaces on a daily basis so the prices are the most up-to-dated price, not old.

Is it possible to use the expert bulk search of this tool to find unregistered domains? (under .COM or a certain ccTLD)

Not that I am aware of. For that purpose, I use NameBright to check a list of domains to see if any one of them is still available for registration.

I have redesigned my site with old posts removed. Sorry for the broken link.
Please I read the post a long time ago.

Am trying to recall, you did mention on how to do a bulk check on the domain keywords in a page without click each link one by one. Can't remember the chrome extension again, please can you help.

The Availability of domain names are shown incorrect ..health.in for example

Can you please tell me how it's useful?
Select all links and they open automatically so that I can check their websites to see how big each end user is.
