Should Dan.com allow potential buyers to message sellers prior to making an offer.

A topic I’ve seen discussed many times. I’m hoping if we have enough support with this poll that dan.com will consider adding a chat / messaging feature.

When a buyer makes offer, he/she can add his/her message there. I have done couple of times.

When a buyer makes offer, he/she can add his/her message there. I have done couple of times.
Yes this is true, however. 99% of the time the buyer will make the min offer then when the seller comes back to them and quotes a large figure the buyer is often deterred, its a psychological thing. As a buyer myself, I almost always would prefer to speak to the seller in advance to submitting an offer.

And the other way around too >> before accepting or countering or refusing an offer made by a buyer, the seller should be able to communicate with the buyer. Currently the system is really not optimized.

I can certainly see how DAN may not like the option as buyer/seller could just agree to do the sale away from DAN, but surely there is a way to control that. Even limiting the buyer to asking a question and the seller replying once and not being able to reply again unless the seller replies.

I voted yes, although it certainly opens up the possibility of several types of abuse.

I would see it most helpful in cases where there is some aspect of the sale that needs to be discussed prior to an offer. For example, the person really wants a payment plan, but it is not currently set up for one (or would rather rent). Or wants to be sure whether it is a premium renewal. Or wants to be sure that the domain name is free for instant move to another registrar. etc.

Now if the option is there, I am sure at times it will get abused. Like you set a minimum of $100 but someone wants to know if you would consider $25. Or simply non-serious.

Still overall I like the idea of option, but can see why a marketplace would be hesitant to allow it.

Ive been saying this yes for months they dont care they said there would be changes after they changed to dan. The only thing that changed is they got slower 😕 however they are still the best landing page company imo but they should make some improvements

Dan is missing a few things.

There should be a button that sends the buyer a notice that theres 24hrs to pay.

A option to message prior counter offers

I don't think they want to make any changes.They feel like oh we created the best landing page company why change it? We only want a few things to make it even better. It's sad because its hurting us and hurting them. We are not fully in control. We could have a better conversation rate if we were able to.message the buyer prior to the counter and after the agreement is confirmed. Theres too much flaking going on. Dan doesn't recognize it. But I have a large group of domainers I speak to on the daily we all recognize it :xf.frown:

Dan.com please give it some consideration
Also we need someone working on the weekend. You guys are getting slower at responding Help us help you
