a desktop application AnnDN includes task based filter mechanism;
just define pattern or keyword based filters and associate them to tasks,
these tasks filter and show results everyday for dropped, pre-release and auction domains.

It all depends on what you are looking for. Are you only interested in domains that are deleted, and this recently you look to their list.
Do become member (doesn't cost you anything) there.
You can filter searches by several filters : you look for domains with a certain word in it. Fill that in.

Just buy anything learn the hard way or read threads here till you finally can see a bargain for yourself. Exercise pick 10 names for sale on 3 0r 7 day auctions that you think will sell. Watch if any sell at all repeat keep doing it till you have a clue. I used to buy expired for traffic if keywords relevant but end up with a watered down profile. Every name was once hand registered.

I bought my first domain (random LLNN.com) just to get a feel for the process, hosting, setting up subdomains, emails, and ultimately learning WordPress and how to overprice it on marketplaces.

Then once I learnt all that I bought a bunch of useless, unsellable names. But at least now I know the process!

Expireddomain.net has so much filter that you can easily get lost as a newbie, it takes some learning curve and repeated usage to master some of them.

Mind you, the filter you use depends on your purpose of being on the site. Are you there for brandable names, short names, keyword based, or for SEO or even just looking for domains with wikipedia and co backlinks.

You need to define that clearly and watch youtube videos like recommended by @DpakH . Though if you really doing this to set up a domaining portfolio worth buying, its better you find well-experienced pro on it to take you by hand (it likely will not be free like youtube videos) but you will also access experience that youtube videos don't share.

Wishing you good luck in your domaining journey
