Had my first domain accepted on brandbucket. This is part conversation starter part question. Have you ever declined to sell on there after a submission? I don't plan to make a habit of it just wanted your experience and if even one time could burn a bridge.

I have submitted my 7 domains there. Let's hope all gets accepted.

thinking of submitting one there and that will be my first time

I submitted probably 15 names there and about 5 got accepted. After a few months, I took them down from BB and put them back on my own landers.

Personally I think BB is pointless.

If your name is good enough, then the buyers are going to come to you. Why would I give Brandbucket 30% for basically doing nothing except coming up with some trash logo?

I'd rather control my own landers, negotiate with buyers directly, set my own damn prices, be able to see my stats, (Dan + Google Analytics) and most importantly, be able to list on Afternic and Sedo.

Now if you're good at the hand-reg game or are able to find a lot of mid-tier names for cheap, then sure, go for it.

This is just my personal experience, but sites like BrandBucket are not for me.

Thanks and this really helps, I think I may just submit the name and pay $1 to see what they will value it to be. Am building my own brand focused on expired domains for SEO at an affordable price at getdomaindata.com but just a name am thinking of trying with them but decided to search here first for reviews like this.

Do you suggest Afternic/Sedo over them?

How do you create your Lander? Do you use a service, or just a free website package from your domain registrar?

99% of my landers are with Dan.com
For really custom landers for my premium names I'm setting up pages with https://carrd.co/

Listing on Afternic puts you into the registration path ... so if someone goes to GoDaddy and searches for "YourNameHere.com" it will show up a purchasable option. Otherwise, it'll just say "Sorry this domain is not available" Same with Sedo, but with other registrars.

This is where the vast majority of buyers are. The rest are typing in the name directly into the browser.

I'm sure BB has worked for other people, but it's just not for me. I'd rather focus on quality names where I can control the variables instead of handing over control to a 3rd party

<<Why would I give Brandbucket 30% for basically doing nothing except coming up with some trash logo?>>

Why would you give DAN 9% for nothing but a landing page, when escrow.com is under a few percent sometimes under one percent even, for escrow. Also with DAN you are stuck paying ALL of the 9%, with escrow.com I pay NONE not a penny of it I am able to stipulate that buyer pays all fees, no such option within the DAN platform. Not to mention that DAN payment processing is quirky and denies payments from many payers.

already checking out Afternic and might list that domain there or Sedo but 99% of my portfolio will be sold via my website. Thanks

Personally I can only list 1% of my portfolio on third party sites where it can get traffic.
As said if a 3rd party platform does not send you traffic, what's their benefits and you probably get the buyer yourself only to hand them free fees just for using them for lander or payment....

Same with Sedo, but with other registrars.
Brandbucket listed domains are available on Sedo network, which is a major advantage over other brandable marketplaces.

that's cool too but their exclusiveness makes me sceptical. if tied down and no sale, then would have to come back to other markets possibly late.

Perhaps. I've sold a number of names through Afternic, but haven't sold any via Sedo. So take that for what its worth...

So if you hate people and are tired of squatting is brandbucket your best bet to move inventory?

BB is annoying, they have most rigid structure.

But they do work for some... Prefer “selective.”
