  • I can't decide but I believe AlpineSnow.ski deserves the $149,888 price tag instead

I received an email from Sedo recently which contained their Domain Topic of the Month which is; Winter Activities

Many of you likely also received it.

It shows a list of 10 related domains and all have Buy It Now prices. The domains are:

SportAdventures.com - $4,971
HowToSnowboard.com - $7,500

SkiWeekendBreaks.com - $ 950
BoysSnowBoots.com - $ 2,677
WinterDress.com - $3,750
SkiLease.com - $3,999
SkiVideos.com - $4,900
FrenchAlps.com - $12,000
SnowSuites.com - $19,888
HighPeak.com - $149,888

Last year I registered the domain; AlpineSnow.ski

Some Estibot data:
high peak - 6600 EM searches p/m - CPC $0,86 - appraisal $1000,-
alpine snow -260 EM searches p/m - CPC $1,31 - appraisal $1600,-

What would you say makes a better brand and reflects the "winter activities" in terms of skiing the best?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
High Peak is a great 2 word .COM that could have many possible uses.
It might not sell for $149K, but it is worth many thousands of dollars.

Sorry, but there is absolutely no comparison between that and AlpineSnow.ski

Thanks Brad.

Since this is a niche domain discussion and because Sedo decided the domain HighPeak.com to be "Winter Activity" related let's assume that the end user will in fact be someone who will start a ski resort and a ski resort only.

In order to have Alpine Snow you generally need a High Peak. In that respect there is a correlation.

But would you not say that both SLD's as a whole compare somewhat:?:

High Peak is way better, by a ridiculous margin.

"Alpine Snow" is basically a nothing keyword.
You might have something if it was like Alpine.ski.

.SKI has not had a reported sale (NameBio) since 2016.

Best of luck with it.

I did not take this many days to come up with a follow up response. I simply hoped that more people would share their views. Realizing that everyone remains quiet I will add this:

What do ski enthusiast think of and hope for when going on a ski holiday?

A high peak or alpine snow?
Mountains or snow?

A high peak is pretty much guaranteed but alpine snow is the ultimate “ingredient” to be able to go down the slopes.

The word “ski” gets around 135,000 Exact Match searches per month.

Why does this only makes sense for people left of the dot?

AlpineSnow.ski is an easy to remember brand for any ski or snowboard enthusiasts and it can even be branded like this; AlpinesNow.ski.

Furthermore; AlpineSnow.com has been online security software I discovered later but has recently gone offline. So, this shows that it can in fact be used for something else and then I agree that the .com works better. But it is a terrible brand for online security software in my opinion.

.SKI has not had a reported sale (NameBio) since 2016.

I looked it up as well and it is an interesting fact.

One could wonder whether the entire world has stopped skiing since 2016. I highly doubt it. So this data point can not be taken seriously.

Now that I do not get.:?:

But what is interesting in that the word "and" also gets exactly 135,000 EM searches according to Esitbot.

Any additional insights are welcome.

Good domains don't need lengthy sales pitches.

Me, too - the world has probably not stopped skiing since 2016, but exactly the opposite.

So, nothing is wrong with skiing itself. Then somthing must be wrong with .ski top level domain, there's no third option.

I have heard that before... but not all domains are always good/great domains and a sales pitch in relation to selling makes kind of sense. Maybe even more so for New gTLD's.

My intention was not to create a sales pitch. If that is what it has become then I just need a potential end user to read this thread.:xf.smile:

this thread is a joke..
I think you say that because of the last added image.

even alpinesnowski.com is better then. ski

alpinesnowski gets 0 searches and has 0 value
alpinesnow gets 260 searches and is appraised at $1600,- plus; it is 3 characters shorter.

Yes, likely that is not the case. It could also be that NameBio and DNpric.es stopped adding .ski sales since then. I might have to start a new thread titled; What is wrong the .ski TLD?:-,

Update to this thread!

For some reason the following data has been removed from my previous reply and it was not done by me.(n)
This will be investigated further but in the meantime and for anyone following, I will update the missing information now.

Above my comment:
Now that I do not get.:?:

But what is interesting in that the word "and" also gets exactly 135,000 EM searches according to Esitbot.

I wrote this:
What is also interesting when visiting; http://dnprice.es/?q=.ski is that Uniregistry has the following .ski domains for sale:

surf.ski for $9,882
and.ski for a take away price of only; $52,941

Yes, the last part is sarcastically meant. But having this information is important to understand why I bring up the exact searches on the keyword "and" and why I question this domain in comparison to alpinsnow.ski and to get to the bottom or should I say on top of this.

Maybe this will be deleted again but if so then please also remove:

Now that I do not get.:?:

But what is interesting in that the word "and" also gets exactly 135,000 EM searches according to Esitbot.

And if possible then please notify me when doing so.

Thank you...
