Good luck with your sales!

  • Tip: Use the Like/Thanks feature instead.

Questions are allowed, but do not post commentary. If you want to discuss or comment on a sale in this thread, quote it and then post it in the following thread instead:

New owner reached out to me via Whois with an opening text of, “Is this Eldred”. I was afraid to say yes. lol But I’m glad I did.

Used Epik’s Escrow for a flawless transaction!

So far this month...

TheBlueCrew DOT com
Closeout purchase and sold via Afternic for $999
Negotiated through DAN and buyer said his MAX was $500. Lowered BIN at Afternic from $1500 to $999 and placed a BIN at DAN for $879. Messaged buyer informing them of the $879 BIN and it sold at Afternic...
GD simply has the trust of buyers.

KDesign DOT co
Closeout purchase and sold via DAN for $375

GD simply has the trust of buyers.
That's why I'm starting to like those ns3 ns4.afternic.com landers a lot.
Buyers see that big GoDaddy logo on top of the page.
So calling that phone number or filling that inquiry form is much easier for them as they feel they'll be talking to GoDaddy.
The form says ''Get a price in less than 24 hours. Fill out the form below. One of our domain experts will have a price to you within 24 busines hours''.
It's very good at engaging prospective buyers imo.
vs trying to figure an offer on a make offer page.

Domain name: Carpe .me
Sale venue: Afternic, inbound
Sale date: 14.11.2019, Payout 16.11.2019
Listing type: BIN
Seller: me
Sale price: 884 USD
Sale fee: 20%
Purchase date: 20.09.2012 (Handreg)
Regfee and renewals: ca. 100 USD

Two details of this sale are worth mentioning:
  • I recently posted the name with a submission list in a Namepros thread, so there is probably a correlation.
  • The fast payout within 3 days is unusual for Afternic. This was a manual transfer from Dynadot to Godaddy.

Bought for 100 USD in 2017. Sold for 900 euro via dan last month.
20191119_184823~2.jpg

Extra details - Bought for 100 USD privately in 2017 from one freelancer who came across me through other project. When he came to know that i invest in domains he said he has one domain that he doesnt need anymore and that what price i would offer for it. I told him to send the domain. After checking the name. I simply said 100 USD and he agreed. Its one of the surname in europe.

After buying the domain i tested it at gd expired auction. Those days they used to allow transfer for 42 days even after auction is completed instead of 30 days now so i was able to check it. I used to do this with my every name at gd.
It was sold for 399 sale supposedly resell price. Which had made my expectations in 2.5-3k range for this name but with time i realized this surname is not as popular. In fact very less people have this surname than initially i assumed. Besides there are other spelling variation of this surname. So when i got a first offer of 100 euro for this via dan. I negotiated and sold it for 900 euro.
