Earlier this month, I gave a TED-style talk at a leadership conference near Philadelphia. The title of my talk was called "Answering the call in a Digital Age". It is a reflection on my own journey from my youth onward. The talk ends with an up to date commentary on life as a tech entrepreneur who has gotten a bit of media attention. The audience for the live talk was predominantly Christian but I think the message has secular relevance:

Long story short, I believe everyone has gifts and talents. At any given time, some people have more financial resources available to them, but everyone has some unique combination of time, talent, treasure and circumstance. Moreover, from time to time, we all have our encounters with providence. Sometimes those are opportunities to move a step closer towards working on the thing that we are uniquely equipped to do.

Curious to know how many folks on NamePros think they might have some kind of calling and if so how domaining fits into that calling, if at all.

People are laughing but let me share something with you about Satan and his firey darts. They are absolutely real. Cupid's arrow is a codeword for Satan's firey darts.

Want some examples?

- AshleyMadison.com will get you sex with a married woman. They make that promise very clear. And guess what, if you go that route you will curse yourself. It is called Adultery. God hates it.

- SeekingArrangements.com will get a any would-be "sugar daddy" a date with a young woman who is trying to make ends meet through prostitution by another name. Seems like a win-win but in fact both lose.

- Abortion is not a form of birth control. It is cold-blooded murder. I don't judge anyone for making that choice, but it is a sacrifice to Moloch and was designed to be that way from the beginning.

In case anyone missed it, those are 3 guaranteed ways for anyone to curse themselves and they are all a result of "Cupid's arrow" -- the firey dart that turns lust into cursing. This is no joke.

Pornography is the appetizer. It is not free. People eventually pay for it with their soul when they put thought in action through fornication, adultery or murder. Porn is the gateway drug in other words.

Yes, it's complicated. However, if you understand the adversary's methods, you will evade those firey darts, not just on Valentine's Day or Halloween when people are an easy target, but year round.

And for those who are accursed, the good news is that all curses are broken in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. People can believe that or not, but I am 100% certain that is true. I am very studied on the topic.

As some folks here know, I am a prayer warrior -- often engaging in intercessory prayer for those who are dealing with adversity. I take prayer requests, and I know others who will do the same.

Actual murder is pretty bad too. Or participating in the spreading of hate on the internet, via memes, video etc.

Adultery bad. If you want to live the single life, just stay single.

"Porn is the gateway drug in other words."

It was also responsible for a lot of innovation on the internet. First affiliate programs, cost per click programs, payment processing, video streaming, pay per view content etc. Where there is money to be made, there is innovation.

Agreed.

As for "hate", I would submit that a guy like Alex Jones is responsible for people asking questions and seeking answers. I consider him to be a gateway drug. He happens to be a client.

Knowledge -- warts and all -- is a great antidote for ignorance. We can probably agree there.

Those old books again. Books by men. Rewritten and re-administered a thousand times over. Perverted, greedy, sadistic, meglamaniacs, who carved statues of themselves in Churches and everywhere else to show their glory to God.

So, do these sins etc get updated in Heaven and Hell according to the times as well... or is that all just happening down here.

Maybe God could use a good registrar down here...

Alex Jones spreads non-sense conspiracy theories and misinformation.

More about his ridiculous theories -

Well, if you take one look at AJ, it is apparent that he might not be an authority on health and wellness. Perhaps he should stay out of that lane, even though supplement sales probably pays a lot of their bills.

On the other hand, when in his lane, it is not all nonsense though he was no Bill Cooper.

All that said, my advice is to:

1. Move on from fear, and pursue more productive endeavors.

2. Consider the possibility that life in all its complexity is not the product of random chance.

Good advice, and I will add to it that regardless of what your belief system might be start thinking about how you can do some good for Humanity and the Environment.

I know that AC/DC is a famous band, but have they ( or any of the other famous bands) done anything for Humanity and the Environment that goes beyond just providing entertainment.

I can't speak on that!

Curious to know how many folks on NamePros think they might have some kind of calling and if so how domaining fits into that calling, if at all.

Calling = Coin Collecting

Domaining = Registering a domain name, creating a website to showcase the coins & maybe selling additional coins.

Cheers

Please remember to comply with the thread topic "So what's your calling? And what do domain names have to do with it?"

Some comments appear to be drifting a bit off-topic again.

Moving forward, please try to at least associate how the comment has something to do with domain names so that the original topic can remain intact.

Thanks.

Music brings joy to the world.

I know, it's just that some of the famous people are also active in certain causes that benefits Humanity and the Environment, so that's why I was wondering about AC/DC, but they probably still deserve to get an award for their music.

I always try to register domains that relate to the causes that I am interested in which mostly are about creating awareness as to how we can do some good for Humanity and the Environment.

And so my calling is to make others aware through my domain names, even if they are not fully developed yet, but it might still provoke some positive thoughts in others just by seeing my domains.

Called (generally) to love, care and support others, being a witness to God's love.

I have always had the poor or the disadvantaged on my mind, so I guess I will eventually end up lifting people up, on a large scale. I only do on very limited scale now.

I read Tom Brown's Schooldays when I was around 7 years old, in Nigeria, and I forgot all about it. 18 years later in England, a couple of months after getting married, I still remember that very moment when I lay on my bed, and the Holy Spirit asked me if I remembered praying to God that I wanted to go to England and marry Tom Brown. I was in shock! 😂 😂 It still took me a few years from that time to realise that God was revealing himself to me as a God that answers prayers. And he has done time and time again ☺ ☺☺ He is an amazing God. And I do get led to pray with people sometimes, and I know it will be answered. I try to hold myself back from praying with everyone for everything as God's got to give the go-ahead.

I also have a calling to teach, and over the last 24 months, I am realising that that teaching will start with writing a series of books revealing information that the world has been told has been lost. I had met someone and we were to co-author but he has given me permission to do it alone but acknowledge his contribution. I will share the series on this thread once the first book is ready (December or January depending on how quickly I finish renovating the Irish Cottage) . ☺ ☺ I will also be teaching through song.

I have been through a lot but I find that I have been and continue to be prepared through those trials. I am work-in-progress but God is my confidence.

Stumbling upon domaining helped me become self-taught in putting up websites/shops, and I have helped people for free and made some money selling stuff online. I have made a few little nice sales over the years, and the money has been handy. ☺ ☺ I wouldn't miss the experience of being part of the community for anything.

Consider the possibility that life in all its complexity is not the product of random chance.

Life is reverse-engineered, from what we think of as "The Future" !

So what is calling you is maybe not as important

As what YOU are calling/attracting

My calling in life is to live it to the fullest, and as my oldest domain says; MakeSomethingHappen™. I go out of my way to meet new people each and every day...i want to know where you're from, your profession, your hobbies, about your family, where you went to school and what makes you tick. How does any of this tie into the domain industry? With every person I meet, they also learn a lot about me. They learn about where I'm from, where I went to school, my professions (the domain profession), my hobbies, my family, my charities and my zest for life. Since I started 9Time™ the new game that will revolutionize golf, I carry with me (3) golf clubs pretty much every where I go, and I have my golf glove hanging out of my back pocket. Although I might be wearing jeans, I'm generally wearing a green and white sweat shirt with St. Andrews on it, and my "Lovely Day for a Guinnes Cap" that I got in Dublin in 1993. I carry the 3 clubs to a business lunch, I carry them to meetings and I even carry them to the gym. I carry a 21 degree hybrid (equivalent of a 3-4 iron), a 7 iron and a putter. All three clubs are easily carried in one hand, and when held at the hosel, together they weigh no more than 3 -4 lbs. In any given day, I generally meet 2, 3, or sometimes 4 people that I can share the 9Time story with, and on occasion I've been able to share the story with a whole group.

You might say other "people" are my calling. I love sports, I love games, I love to travel, i love work, and as an equal opportunity alcohol guy, i like to drink:xf.wink:

You asked Rob...there you have it. And in addition to revolutionizing golf, the domain industry is
ripe for a revolution:xf.eek: God Bless, regardless of the God you worship:happy:
