Recently I received an email from an interested buyer for my domain, he/she got my email from WHO IS and contacted me saying the same. And the domain which he/she is talking about is listed on SEDO (BIN price) and several other platforms as make offer.

As soon as I checked my email, I responded by confirming my ownership of the domain (As he/she asked). Then I removed my listings from all platforms, so that I could negotiate openly. It's been hours and I still didn't get any response from the interested buyer. What I wanted to ask is, does the buyer take their time in replying emails or do they reply instantly? second, did I do the right thing by removing the listing from all platforms ?

Any advice or tips on how to proceed further would be appreciated !

Only hours? Have a little patience :xf.smile: Leave it until Tuesday or Wednesday next week before sending another note to them.....You do not want to appear desperate

If a potential buyer has asked you remove the other listings then doing it shows good faith on your part

Hi, thankyou for your time :)

The potential buyer didn't ask me to do it, I did it on my conscience thinking that if the BIN price ( Which I set was low) was seen by him/her, I wouldn't possibly go for a higher price...

Personally I would of left all the other listings in place if they did not ask you to remove them. An offer does not necessary mean a deal so you have restricted your marketability for something that might not happen. Also if the potential buyer sees the name listed elsewhere then it might create some urgency at their end.....

Have 1 BIN in place and make offer on all other marketplaces and if and when a name sells then you can remove them :xf.smile:

Take this time of silence from the buyer to investigate the buyers request.
Start with their email address.
Check the i.p
Know your buyer if and when they do respond.

Good luck!

Depending on where you had it posted, BIN will remain visible online for a while as it’s cached. Also if your BIN was fairly priced thinking that you’ll get more just because of an inbound inquiry isn’t necessarily a logical approach.

Sometimes transactions can take minutes and sometimes days, or even weeks. I have seen it all as every buyer is different. Don't necessarily let time be a factor in gauging a buyers interest.

leave the domain in all market places
with a very high BIN

and then wait for an offer
and reply the next day

"we are not ready to let it go that cheaply."

Make sure they dont trick you into things like requesting certifications and appraisal certificates. Those are scam and you will only lose money instead of selling the name. Wait for his/her response and see what they say. I hope it is not scam and that you make a sale, good luck.

That's what happened with me, will be posting the whole story on the warning thread!

Thankyou everyone

I had two nice sales last week.

With the first one, there was almost 2 days with silence after all was set. Then suddenly, sold.

The second one that sold (through Afternic), had gone silent for almost two weeks. Then, out of nowhere, the transaction closed.

I'm not sure why, but buyers do seem to pause just before paying sometimes.
