I think Epik is building the best ever Domain Lander in the history of domaining, and it really needs to be talked about extensively. That's why I am creating this discussion thread. A lot of thought process really goes into the project. And I can see (for the first time) a landing page that is built from the stand point of domainers rather than for just the marketplace itself.

Everything you have ever dreamt of getting or seeing in a professional landing page can be found in the new Epik marketplace landing page design.

Some of my Favorites Features:

1. The ability to optimize your "domain for sale" landing page to actually rank on Google, displaying your sales pitch/domain description. I just did that with few of my generic domain names such as ASAP.TV, targeting certain keywords, and they are showing pretty well on Google. That's a huge plus in my marketing effort.

2. Being able to change background image is another huge one for me. If you are good with pictures and images, you will surely find this very useful. I did that with Nagasaki.org and the result was truly amazing, showing the city of Nagasaki right at the background.

There are too many positive features and I don't want to mention all of them, all alone :xf.grin::xf.grin:

So I am leaving you guys to share and discuss what you loves most or dislike about the new Epik marketplace and the landing pages.

The only negative for me is the checkout process. There are too many terms and conditions buttons to tick before checking out. It will be nice if they can streamline those into one beautiful big button :xf.cool:

They also need to place the checkout button directly under the payment options. Right now it is awkwardly place somewhere below at the sidebar, which I don't find cool at all.

Sales experience is also welcomed in this discussion. I haven't had any sells so far at Epik because I started using the marketplace just recently, but the future is looking so bright.

Quick update on SSL landers.
So, we are growing these pretty quickly. ...

Good news .. I did more the other night and the delay was several hours ... stop getting new customers for a few days .. you're becoming too successful! lol

Anyhow .. it's perfect timing .. I hope to finally have my master inventory spreadsheet updated in the next day or so (has been out of date over a year .. it's a miracle I'm a profitable domainer with so few domains priced and listed .. lol)

Let me know if there's anything specific you'd like to be tried/checked? As usual I'll send you feedback if anything! :)

Keep an eye out for testable hypotheses.

We have a large sample size so we can see in 24 hours what moves the needle in terms of conversion.

For domains that are registered at Epik, we are about to move the domains onto more than a thousand unique IP addresses and then start federating them onto unique name servers.

As for SEO, we don't really need to measure that as much as apply deeply studied best practices and to make the tools easy to use for doing that.

Rob I know in the past there has been a fair bit of discussion about these landers and the lack of options for importing a domain portfolio in bulk. So, I'm wondering where things are presently in that regard? Specifically, I want to be able to import my whole portfolio with the following:
- Minimum offer price
- Capitalisation of the domain as set in my portfolio (I already have all capitalisation done, so it's rather a bother having to re-do it all to make a twoword.tld look like a TwoWord.tld)
- Notes field - whatever you call this field where people can enter notes, sales data, etc for SEO purposes (Not essential for me currently, but definitely would be handy)
- BIN price also handy (if set), but again not a big pone for me at present.

I have 95% of my domains reg'd with Epik anyway, so I wouldn't care if I couldn't do this for domains with other registrars.

I'd be very happy to use Epik landers, but due to lack of time the process for me to changeover has to be close to effortless or I just will never get around to it (which is the case at present!)...

In your domain manager, look in the footer for this tool:

upload_2019-11-10_19-24-13.png

It is the tool called "CSV Import".

It gives a dialog like this:

upload_2019-11-10_19-24-53.png

I think it is exactly what you are seeking.

I am attaching the template but the easiest is to do this:

1. Add all your domains to your account.

2. Then do CSV import to set the values.

However, you can also import from scratch.

If you run into trouble, just send us the file and we'll take care of it.

This is why I'm focusing on cleaning up and finally updating my own spreadsheet, because after I'm done sorting what's for sale and what isn't, it'll be really easy to generate a sheet to upload! :)

Does anyone know if the domain field is case sensitive?

Also .. what are the following fields for?

1- Notes
2- Portals Tab
3- Portals Catagories

Does "Notes" = "Marketing Content", or is it just a hidden field for our own personal usage?

Hello I don't know if it answered yet ,

Can you guys please let me know, if I bring my own lead how much do they charge at Epik?

Dan currently charge 5%.
@Avijit Roy apologies for the delay in response here. If you find a buyer and work out a deal, you can use the Epik Escrow Service. Just fill out this form: https://www.epik.com/services/escrow/ - Epik Escrow fee is 1.5%. You will need to indicate on the form whether the seller or buyer is responsible for the fee. If you have further questions, you can reach out to myself or @Rob Monster directly. Thanks!

Yes, the domain cases sensitivity is the big one for me. I have a suspicion it won't be, but haven't tested yet. Fortunately my spreadsheet is mostly up-to-date (though it could always do with some pricing tweaks) but I need to find time to get them all listed in some marketplaces. I've always resorted to throwing domains up on DAN (since it is absolutely dead easy) but I need a more complete approach for better coverage.

I'll let you know if I get it tested but it's sure to be a few days away as I have some other projects and meetings which require immediate attention.

Escrow is still free right if buyer uses an epik account and pays via wire transfer?

If domain sold via epik landing page then commission is 9% correct? And is there any cashout fee?

Correct, standard commission is 9% for sales or leases from an Epik lander, which includes payment processing fees. There is no cash-out fee.

A ton of offers -- presumably your test offers -- did arrive today. System is working normally. We are considering to also add the option of an SMS alert when an offer arrives. Helpful?

Hell yea! Anything but Snail mail is a Win.

This is the 21st century, i would reply in secs

Thanks and is buyer given a choice to transfer the domain at preferred register like other standard marketplaces or it has to be epik only?

The domain can be transferred out immediately after the buyer's payment clears. We don't enforce a requirement that the domain remain at Epik unless it is a lease or payment plan.

If the name was registered but not parked with epik, and I want to import the leads, what is the commission?

If you have your own sale, you can just use the escrow service:

https://www.epik.com/services/escrow/

An escrow dashboard is coming soon but it is full-service concierge, particularly suitable for larger transactions.

Adding Google Analytics to Epik SSL Landing Page (clarification)

upload_2019-11-14_20-23-17.png

Just a suggestion, to add further clarification, it might help to include "Global Site Tag" or "gtag.js", or an example script, to assure users are on the right track.

In Google Analytics >Admin > Select UA-### (or create account) > Select Property (or create new) > Tracking Code

upload_2019-11-14_20-30-8.png

I assume most people confuse their tracking ID for their tracking Code, hence the added note to remember the entire script. Nonetheless, a mention of Global Site Tag or gtag.js, might help reassure one is on the correct track.

I add this difference noting gtag.js has only been mentioned once on namePros prior to this post

I'll discuss my latest experience lol
Trying to kill the Efty switch, it is a great domain management tool. I also use namesilo link manager to keep track of things. I think epik has better domain management tools. So I attempted to import my portfolio, this make it easier to do transfers in as well.
Anyways, I attempted to upload my csv files from efty, the epik system kept saying something about registrar error(n) to efty

@namesilo domain link manager csv file upload worked good, but no fault of theirs, your system kept giving me errors for my .ca the ones mostly at certain registrar
Unable to verify domain info. Please try again.
Anand there in chat, his last word was ok about an hour ago, wasn't much help.
I kept double crossing and finding ones that got the error, adding them into add domains in another tab at first trying to do bulk what failed and in end I had to do 1 by 1 to complete the mission
My number is finally 214 across the board Epik Namesilo Efty domain managers
Took a few hours. I'll start moving the NS to epik tomorrow.:xf.eek: it is tomorrow.

Will the my domains section CCTLD domains ever show the registrar @Rob Monster ?
Currently it says external, but TLD that are external like reg'd at namesilo, shows them as registrar
efty was good at picking up canadian registrars we use up here, no blank registrars

If you could email or PM that CSV upload file that is giving you pain, we'll troubleshoot.

As for .CA we are a reseller but made a decision this week to move forward with securing a direct accreditation with CIRA.

As for legacy marketplace tools, we have not made an ingestion tool for bulk migrating content from Efty or Domain Name Sales, but these are coming. Same for PPC parking companies.

If you need specific help with migrating legacy data or settings, just reach out and we'll see how we can help. I may enlist @Gube or @Pat8 here in addition to @vitigo.

I have two questions/proposals:
  • I often forget to buy Daily Diamonds. I usually check them before going to bed but in the next morning there are other priorities. Is it possible to integrate a watchlist by click and an E-Mail or SMS reminder one or two hours before the listing of watchlist items ends?
  • I like the Epik domain management a lot but I am missing an overview which domains use SSL landers and which do not. In the Tab DNS&Services I can check Nameserver settings and Epik Parking. Or do I miss something?

Will review with @vitigo, @Ala Dadan and @Pat8.

On marketplace activity, I want to add the option to subscribe to an SMS alert for inquiries, likely as part of the new CRM module coming online.

On Daily Diamonds, we should allow an SMS to notify you when the inventory is published.

You should also be allowed to subscribe to an SMS alert when a specific domain hits your target price. This is generally needed also for being notified about MLS price changes.

On the dashboard, we'll see if we can add an icon to make it more obvious if SSL lander is live as a domain disposition. It is not really parking. I

Quick update on network performance.

Some good progress from @Miao and team in tuning our proprietary Content Delivery Network over the last week. As you can see below, the ping times in Tokyo are now 2 (two!) milliseconds:

upload_2019-11-18_14-4-29.png

That is really impressive. Ping times for China are now also falling fast.

We need to add some monitoring in more places in the world, but the trajectory is one of continued rapid improvement.

Once the Toki network comes online, I expect even remote places with poor bandwidth will see remarkable improvement in ping time over whatever they are experiencing now.

Response management CRM from Epik is coming soon. Preview.

upload_2019-11-18_21-38-40.png

The next step is Smart CRM features for automating responses. For people who get a lot of offers, this will be pretty cool -- our first step towards integrating some serious AI tools into Epik. Looking forward to that!

Looks good. Interesting that Albert E is interested but he seems to not have made an offer yet. btw, who is this Minnie person? :xf.smile:

On a serious note, the one thing I would like to see are email notices once a domain has been unlocked (or relocked). It would add a great deal to my peace of mind and I would not mind the extra emails.
