Hi Embrand,

We're now doing final tests on the new Lease To Own model and I expect us to be able to launch that new feature within 2 weeks. The fully revamped landers Laszlo was referring to won't be launched in 2019 since that's quite a big project we're working on.

We've observed that down payments are counterproductive and won't include that option. It introduces friction that we're trying to take away so you sell more domains. Your buyers prefer monthly payments for a reason (cash flow / budget). During our customer development for the new model we observed adding a downpayment option introduces friction and also invites the buyer to negotiate about both the price and the down payment.

What we did instead is to increase our maximum Lease To Own term from 2 years to 5 years. We also introduce a new markup model where the buyer pays a markup fee of up to 30% for long term purchases.

This way, as a seller, once the domain gets sold in a lot of installments, you simply make more money as a trade off for getting your full payment delayed.

The best part of the new model is that you as the seller, never have to negotiate anymore since we make the domain affordable to 95% of all possible buyers of your domain. Sellers that enable the new Lease To Own option should see a very significant increase in sales after enabling the feature.

The feature is also designed and optimized in a way that the buyer can simply pick the terms that fit his or her budget by simply moving a slidebar which updates the deal terms for the buyer instantly on his/her screen.

We can't wait to start offering the new model, as mentioned before the results are quite amazing in terms of conversion.

Here are already some screenshots of the Beta version for context:

This looks amazing πŸ’― πŸ‘πŸ»!!!

Looking forward to this as @Embrand said I love that it shows the buyers an affordability option that β€œclearly β€œ stands out!

Told you, your payment system sucks, just like your loud mouth and false claims that your payment hits the bank very next day.

Here’s is screenshot of deposit hitting my bank on 7th November, which is exactly 7 days after!!

Is this the first international bank wire that you've received? Read here how bank wires work: https://transferwise.com/us/blog/international-wire-transfer-time

What I love about you is that you keep showing publicly that you do not understand a lot of simple things like how bank wires or payment processors work. But you are a quite vocal one, aren't you?

To conclude: you lied again by saying DAN took 5 days to send you your payment while your payout was sent on the same day we processed the domain transfer.

However, did you know that we show the local conversion rate of all currencies in the world based on the IP of the buyer?
It has no any effect, for example, from Ukraine.
Only seller's currency is displayed.

For all you fanboys/girls in this thread, going on without thinking, here are some proofs for you:

If it was one-off instance that I have mentioned or have been complaining about, and DAN is religiously refuting, I would have gone my way but when more than one person complains, there must be something wrong.. think about from a business point of view and do as you please!

I just gave an example of something that happened to me, it's also probably not DAN's fault but the buyer's card provider.
I love the platform, also you're making a joke out of yourself with those comments, I'd recommend stopping.

For the same period a few domains were sold on Sedo...

@Soofi
As I see from Dan screenshot - they processed your payment on Nov'1 Friday evening (outside of bank hours).
So your wire was actually sent next business day (Nov'4 Monday) - and that's why you received it on Nov'7.
No any problems - in other words.

if a buyer goes with the dan.com installment plan, do they get to use the name after the first payment or do they have to wait until all payments have been made?

From https://dan.com/help/buyer-guide

How does buying a domain in installments work?

You can choose to buy a domain name in installments if this option has been made available by the seller.

After securing the first payment we transfer the domain to our Escrow account and give you access to the DNS settings of the domain. The domain will be held by DAN.COM in Escrow until the full purchase price is paid. Once we've secured the complete purchase price we'll assist the buyer will gaining full control and ownership over the domain.

So mentions like we show the local conversion rate of all currencies in the world based on the IP of the buyer - must be really rechecked/tested.
I guess, my case is just example... and my country (UAH currency) is not alone in the non-supported list de facto.

Just for comparison, GoDaddy works properly regarding this matter...
When I visit GD - I see prices in my local currency.

You just made a joke of yourself by saying this kid. Talk about making a statement and turning back on it as if you never did. Multifaceted much!!

Read again what you wrote in that statement. It wasnt just an example dude, and you clearly stated that buyer couldnt use his card at DAN.

That's right, he couldn't use his card on DAN, but your all approach is dumb.

My approach is to a problem which Dan doesn't admit/accept, and your approach of turning 360 degrees on your statement is poor show of ethics, on your part. *Slow Claps*

@DAN.COM

Will you guys be implementing a price upon request feature in the near future? I never really gave it much thought before but @Rick Schwartz is absolutely spot on with his recent Tweets regarding this.

2
•••
If you want it right now - the so-called "Price Upon Request" is available via plain Contact Form at ParkingCrew...
I use it for many years... my primary method of sales.

I just got sale for first domain at Dan.
There is a notice at dan.com.
Important: don't change the domain ownership details while pushing the domain. This activates a 60-day lock which will prevent the buyer from being able to transfer the domain!

When pushing at namebright it has a checkbox "60-Day Lock Domain After Change" selected.
Do I disable that.

2
•••
So disable this lock, deselect it.
