Is there any real value in DCEP domains?

Do Chinese start ups really buy domains? I've heard of a few Chinese sales, but is purchasing domains as common in China as it is the rest of the world?

Will DCEP be successful enough outside of China to justify non-Chinese companies doing business outside of China to purchase DCEP domains?

DCEP will likely see heavy adaption given that Chinese seem to confirm to what the gov plans out for them. Do you think that Chinese entrepreneurs will launch businesses to monetize this new form of payment and will they want DCEP domains.?

With over 2 billion Chinese, I feel like there is lots of opportunity for DCEP to become one of the most used currencies on a blockchain, but whether or not this is an opportunity for domaining, I'm not entirely sure.
Good questions. I took a punt just in case DCEP domains do become demanded. On the financial spectrum I would definitely categorize the investment as high risk.

Yeah... China has over to billion people... Their mobile payments market is in the tens of trillions of dollars. I think DCEP domains in theory SHOULD have value, but I'm always cautious about non-Western markets.

When India's government released their new mobile payment system UPI I capitalized on it and made 1,500 on the sale of UPIPay dot com...it was a profit, but I expected much, much more. I did a lot of out bound and found that a lot Indian companies are surprisingly cheap and don't see much point in acquiring domains when you can reg one, even if you spell it out to them. So different countries may have different attitudes about domains. I learned my lesson and have been staying clear of keywords focused on markets where the currency value is very low compared to the USD...

I did reg sone DCEP domains just in case anyway...a new currency for a population of 2 billion people is difficult to ignore...

Yes, in addition to 2 billion people they are the largest exporter in the world. They have huge incentives to make the currency fast and reliable in exchanges, possibly making it very desirable around the world. Currently, the exchange times are slow and take days. Imagine the possible GDP growth with factories working in real time.

I just reviewed my DAN stats in Analytics and was a bit suprised that the 2nd most traffic in November is for DCEPjobs .com so far. This must be domainers as the broad public should never have heard of DCEP and people won´t look for jobs in a branch that was just announced. Searchers´ languages are English followed by Chinese, Dutch, German, French and Spanish.

Just for comparison: Most traffic is for BlackFriday .party on DAN. Here I believe that these viewers are people looking for a party opportunity during the Black Friday weekend. I should change to Catering services.

I don't think DCEP keyword will boom because china never care about .com for their website (except big player & Chinese domain investors) ...

They love .top, .wang and few other extensions..

so be ready to loose your hard earned money..

Disclaimer: I own 2 decp domains from march 2018.

Yeah... This could be different since dcep aims to be an international currency, and nonchinese companies may want to get in, given China is fast becoming a crypto capital...but I find that countries with lower currency rates are less likely to buy domains in general.... I have 17 just in case registrations.....

I don't know if anyone else has noticed but.

Institute of Digital Money, People's Bank of China.

They have quite a few generic name in this format DC-EP.ORG with the hyphen not straight letters.

Could this be the new standard for dcep?

I respectfully disagree. I'm sure you have checked some DCEP .com domains and have discovered there are plenty of DCEP .com domains registered by Chinese even as far as 2015.

I can't say right now which. but I do recall many many many were taken since 2015. some were dropcatched and have aging since 2010.

and I'm talking about two word domains like DCEP + keyword domains.

domains containing "DCEP" { 1,491 domain names }

There is a saying. "There's a sucker born every minute."

if DCEP is a "Chinese thing"

and there's 1,433,783,686 people in China not to mention all thee other Chinese people scattered around the world in every Chinatown in the world.

I like those odds.

and then let me close with "There's a sucker born every minute." :xf.wink:

Sorry China.

Please elaborate on what you intend to mean by "a sucker" is born every minute, in this context. Are you implying that DCEP is for suckers? DCEP domains are for suckers? Chinese people are suckers?

I'd disagree with all three, but then again I may be completely misunderstanding your point, so please elaborate.
