So this week I looked at the email from new names added to BrandBucket and I saw Olive.com which is not the normal name you think of when you think of BrandBucket. You think of solid two word brandables or a madeup pronounceable what BrandBucket calls an invented name. But when you look at the […]

Apparently Nude.com does not have to play by the BrandBucket rules. (NSFW)

Would you a list a tier 1 premium .com with BrandBucket?

Why not, definitely I will list my premium names at Brandbucket.com, as I am getting most of my bulk income from this marketplace only.

What are the odds of selling on BB?

I can get more money for list my domain on BB ?

There is no clear, direct and positive response ... on the other hand it is 100% positive that I have to pay in advance ... for the possibility of selling it or not ... and in case it is sold I must pay it more...so I pay you one time to pay you more a second time.

it does not make any sense.

It might make sense for names like that. Problem with regular names from regular sellers at BB is the exposure. These names automatically show in Premium and are listed from high to low so they get eyeballs, probably thousands more than they would without such listing.

BrandBucket would have to pay me to list those names,, not the other way around.

Those type of names need no introduction

You own names like Olive.com, Oahu.com and Lend.com?

Those names don't need to be giving exclusivity or 15% for passive promotion in my opinion.

If you check out Nude.com that owner is breaking BrandBucket's rules.

I just received an approval email for a listing in excess of $25k.. But, with a 30% commission, I am reluctant.

Not sure what my next move should be.

I would appreciate your thoughts....

30% of 25k = $7500 ...dam!!..in you face.

I think I have to take some type of LSD to understand this

I would like to know the name, and if its worth (or not) losing 7.5k on it ;)

considering this

- 7.5 is a higher figure than most domain prices.
- If a domain is worth more than 7.5 then why you need BB ?

Agreed, and the reason why I would love to know about the dn.

That's my point.

I don't know of any reason to lose $7.5K...ever!!! I also don't know if my name warrants a $25k valuation or if it should be valued much less.....or maybe much more???

I'm not comfortable posting publically incase people want to rip on it which in turn could affect the opinion of a potential buyer if they start googling/researching the domain name.

I will say that it is a category killer and a .me

Estibot values the .com at over $1 million dollars. (For those of you who put value in Estibot... :) )

As per Namebio, there's only 1 (.me) sale above $25K reported in last 4years although the highest sale is Meet.me @450K in 2011, a private sale.

Mox.me $29,999 (2019) doesn't resolve. Need.me $25,000 (2015) is down but Archive.org shows it was live in 2018: (https://web.archive.org/web/20180411031839/https://need.me/).

I think, if its a 'great' match and a category killer (message.me, call.me, date.me etc.) then I think, its better to move out of BB. Else, $18K is also good amount for 'good' .me name.

IMO

Yes... I had a boo at Namebio as well. Seems like there are many sales right around the 25k mark which makes me wonder if that's how the BB people came up with this valuation.

To be honest, I'm not very good at promoting and don't really know how else to sell a name other than list it at Sedo or BB or similar. I've sold a few on Sedo and I've also had a few people contact me about names via registry.

I reg'd this name at .ME landrush.. paid bucks for it and have held ever since. 👍

As far as being a good match....if "meet.me" is a 10/10 and "whisper.me" is a 1/10... I'd say mine is a solid 7/10 on the ".ME match factor"... and a 10/10 for keyword category killer. 😊

You can take a cue at the best from these valuations pointed out by Estibot and Namebio. They dont really matter much at the end of the day, as each keyword has its own value.

One important point to note is that BB simply suggested that price and that doesnt mean the domain is worth that much or lower than that price. They could be wrong as well.

If its .ME, I'd suggest you to go for BB and see how it works out for. Getting a sale is important, and if it comes from BB's network, why not!

At the end, without knowing a name, age, keywords, etc, I'll probably be resting my suggestions here.

It seems like you're desperate to sell, and that my friend is the first thing you should not do in this business.

you can create a demo page, a portfolio or just parking and earn something, If the domain is really good, someone will come to you, this is how most good domains are sold..with patience.

good luck..:)

Desperate? Hardly. I bought this name in the Landrush phase of .ME rollout in 2008 and have held ever since.

Desperate would be the farthest thing from what I am, however "curious" would certainly be an accurate description 😊

I've gone the parking route... which produced some money, but parking pages are not going to rank in search engines so being a dot ME the type in traffic was not great. I ceased with the parking and have had it in hibernation ever since....I guess that would be for the last five or six years...roughly.

In an earlier post YOU questioned why I would list on BB ... quote "- If a domain is worth more than 7.5 then why you need BB ?"

So I simply asked what other better alternatives there may be. Now you're calling me desperate. Lol.
I thought after reading your suggestion of not needing to use BB as a selling platform that perhaps you might have a suggestion aside from the standard landing page, or white label..... possibly of a killer marketplace that is geared towards, and high on .ME sales.

However, I do appreciate your thought out suggestions and expression of luck!

Cheers!

I don't think I will list them on BB these type of killer name which itself can be sold. The better is I just put it on lander epik, dan and then wait for the right buyer.

I know I will get tons of lowball offers and fake buyer but I am still ok instead of paying 25% to 35%

I list names on BB and have had good success. They aren't one word names like Olive.com though. But I find BB to get decent sales for me.
