I've been spending a little time reviewing the brand Catchy.com who advertises here on NamePros. They're headquartered in France and seem to have a good presentation. They say in their add; "catchy domains for lease"

First off, what's a "catchy domain"? Hell if I know, but I know one when I see one. "Catchy" domains require a sense of humor, something that seems to be lacking in the world today:xf.frown:

I believe I have a few "catchy" domains, two of which I reg'd in the last 48 hours, and neither of which have been registered before.

The first one I registered is; LakeCatchy(.)com. If you don't see the humor here I'm really sorry, but "Lake Catchy" has got to be the best name of any fishing hole in the world.

Moving on, while meeting with some friends earlier, I thought of a flea market as I rounded a corner headed for home. So what should POP into my pea brain, but CornerFlea.com. I don't know if you have flea markets where you are, but could you imagine a national chain of "Corner Flea" markets selling things from all over the world? Can anyone even begin to imagine how that might be accomplished? They could even sell fresh fish from Lake Catchy that are shipped overnight to a corner near you:xf.grin:

Do you have any "Catchy" domains? Share them with us and the story behind them. Thanks(y)

I'm keeping this domain name in case some day I decide that I simply have no future in domain names and it is time to let myself go! :xf.grin:

fires.me
Bob, i'm sure you know fire.me would be better, but depending the renewal fee it's hard to say whether or not to keep it?

I just hand reg'd CorePurple.com, see "Outbound Discussion Thread", and as a "catchy" domain, I'm thinking about PurpleSue.com for I can envision who to market it to. Any thoughts on you end? Thanks

Probably although as a dual purpose one, such as a professional in fire fighting to fire prevention the plural works, or for a three word phrase like company.fires.me :xf.eek: as maybe a campaign for a service helping fired employees get their rights. Buy yes, understand probability of sale on this one is very low.

Unless I have an inquiry or offer I am unlikely to renew. It was more a fun registration cause I thought it was cute and worked as a three word phrase with any singular first word - could even be political Trump.fires.me :xf.cool: for a reference site of all those who have heard the expression You're Fired!

CorePurple does not resonate with me. PurpleSue is cute but I would think odds of interest is very low as with mine.

Bob

Pretty sure I saw wide.one around yesterday. I’m on my phone, so can’t quickly check. But it either dropped, is dropping or in auction

This thread would be imo totally incomplete without my favourite catchy domain name:

huge.one - I mean, who would not like domain name like that? :glasses:

Well, it turns out I have a Huge.one, but my brother has a Skinny.one, and it's available since he didn't renew:xf.wink:

There is some confusion about the definition of catchy - "instantly appealing and memorable". A difficult feat to accomplish, but hopefully these come close.

I like most of your names Pazu with eValentine having the greatest value imo. I see where you have it for sale at Afternic for $9,888. and I think it may have a lot more value than that to the right party. Actually I find it hard to believe that someone isn't already using the name for electronic Valentines. I don't know much about that business (electronic greeting cards) that is, but I know Valentines Day is HUGE!

Here is one I just reg'd Greatest7.com. I reg'd this name last night after the Washington Nationals won the World Series in seven games. The closing pitcher Dan Hudson is from my hometown of Virginia Beach, and when he struck out the last batter for the World to see, I just knew spending $8.50 for this name was a gift from heaven:xf.grin:

@ThatNameGuy appreciate the feedback on eValentine. I got it in an expiring bidding war. Do you think I might be worth giving it to a broker? I don’t do outbound now. Will consider removing the buy it now. Thanks!

Pazu.....only "if" there were a broker who would find a way to get exposure with the major greeting card companies, or go the extra mile. eCard(s) is valued at over 25K plus at GD. I googled "largest greeting card companies", then "electronic greeting cards" and those searches might give you an indication who the major players are who could afford to pay what your domain is truly worth.

This is my opinion, and my opinion only but eValentine could be worth a lot of money. I'll tell you who else might want it, candy and flower companies who traditionally sell hundreds of millions of dollars of candy and flowers around Valentines day.

I'll tell you what Pazu, if you send me a PM with some basic information about yourself I might try to help you sell it. Personally I think it should be worth at least 25K looking at the size of the industry and the potential it has. Good Luck.

Pazu...I've been thinking if I were to become a broker of any kind, here are two what I believe to be "catchy" domains that customers will never forget:xf.wink: I reg'd two domains that are slightly different, one of which may not be "politically correct", and the other slightly more "politically correct" Enjoy!

iStirShitUp.com

and

iStirStuffUp.com

now, if you have the B*lls to put only this on your business card, with maybe the exception of a tagline like "Domain Specialist" or "Brand Speciaist", i doubt you will be forgotten. What do you think?

note; these domains are four words (a cardinal sin for this industry), however, they're just (11) and (12) letters respectively which is fewer than many one word domains.
