Hello everyone,

I'm creating this post to keep you all informed of Epik.com Happy Hours!
Every day, we'll try to discount an extension and give you the chance to register & invest in this extension.

Today, we're featuring .US extension, and we're discounting it to $1.50 for new registrations starting now, and will be ON for the next 5 hours.

The following is a list of all domain names that have been registered previously before under .US, and are available one more time for registration: https://armored.net/index.php/s/t9rf2GLm4JktQWn

Remember, all domains registered at Epik include:
- Free WHOIS privacy
- Free SSL parking landers
- Free forwarding
- Free basic Wordpress site
- Free listing in Epik marketplace for selling/leasing

Here is also a link to ALL promos that we're currently running, in case you wanted to look into something different: https://www.epik.com/promos/

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Also, let me know what extensions you'd be interested to see featuring in our future Happy Hours! We'll do our best to accommodate all requests.

@DomMichael .. I'm fine at any level .. but I previously committed to the cause at the 5,000/$5.99 domain level .. so I'll stay at that for a few more days ... although I'm now scared to see how many of those 100 domains have since been registered, so if a majority of the domains committed wants to go for it at the 2,500/$6.49 level, then I'm in for that.

At this point after no new commitments in a while, I think the more realistic goal is 5,000/$5.99 domains. @Blitzpotz @DomainNerdz and @varyemez .. would you be willing to commit at 5000/$5.99? Because unless @Rob Monster gets a huge whale in the next 2 weeks I just don't see $5.49 happening.

Those already listed please like or thank this post if you're still in for your commitment. Make a comment below if you are not.

IF YOU WANT TO ADD YOURSELF TO THE COMMITMENT or IF YOU WANT TO ALTER YOUR COMMITMENT ... then please copy/pate the below list into a new post and add your commitment to the list.

I will wait another 48 hrs to see if any deal is offered... afterwards, i will go ahead with transfers and registrations...

Good luck to you all...

@Leopard .. Verisign charges registrars $7.85 per domain. The there's the ICANN fee of $0.18 (which i'm pretty sure isn't included in the $7.85 .. someone please confirm). Then you need to add staff, infrastructure, office space, etc.

So actual cost varies depending on the size of the registrar and how low/high their non-domain costs are per domain .. but it's safe to say about $8.50 isn't far from actual cost. Maybe even more for small registrars. For the most part registrars don't make money on domains, but on the hosting, email, aftermarket commissions, expired auctions, etc. That's why the actual domain cost isn't a hard minimum on actual domain pricing and you see promotions from time to time.

Registrars do get some promo/rebates .. no clue how that works or how much or how regular.

Note those numbers are for .com domains. Pricing and profit levels vary significantly depending on TLD .. profit margins on ngTLDs are generally significantly larger. (necessarily so because they don't have anything close to the same volume as .com)

Excel. I swear Excel is such an amazing tool .. that has helped me unimaginably .. while at the same time being one of the biggest sources of frustration ever!

I was using excel, but I found using AirTable.com a lot simpler. Especially if your always on different computers. If you have less than 1200 records then the free version will work just fine. You can actually import your excel files to build AirTable tables so no need to rebuild stuff.

Thank You @Ategy.com for the insightful response .. That is quite some heavy bleeding and unsustainable in the long run for registrars

Guys .. give @vravis9 a break .. It's my fault I think .. I thought the October promotion included creates as well .. and I mentioned it a couple of times (quote above) when I was trying to rally a group to hit the 2500-5000-10000 thresholds (which is likely what @vravis9 saw). I had previously transferred the entirety of my remaining 2019 renewals to Epik, so when I said I was in for 100 to help out, it was actually for the 100 creates I missed by a few seconds at the end of September. So I'm sorry if I caused confusion! :(

That being said .. yes .. $7.50 is still a very good price! Although when you think about it, the even better price is $8.50 for renewals because most domainers keep domains for multiple years. You have to pay an extra ~$100 a year to get $8.50 for both at GoDaddy, yet @Rob Monster is offering it to us for free! :)

On top of that Rob's being participating in the community, actually buying our domains for his projects and doing some really cool stuff while reaching out to us for our feedback looking for things we want to be included.

That being said .. in all fairness ... yes .. definitely telling someone to go to Network Solutions is an insult .. lol .. seriously .. c'mon .. it's Network Solutions .. lol .. how many threads have we seen here of people going insane because of them? lol .. But just to be clear @vravis9 .. he didn't actually say you, his statement was more general in nature! ;)

For the record .. while Network Solutions gives you one domain for cheap, beyond the first domain their prices are $34.99 per domain! Ridiculous! lol

Thanks @Ategy.com for your support and explanation...

Was talking about this...

Whale inbound.

$6.99 .COM for next 12 hours.

and asked some clarity about it here...and also the price was not updated immediately, so brought to @Rob Monster notice..

is this $6.99 for transfers only... little confusion for members here.

I am looking for a registrations offer.

Thanks,
Ravi

the response was surprising for me...didn't saw that before..

I am fan of quality and cust support and love Epik for the same.

I provided feedback on various topics to @Rob Monster regarding site / payment / errors and constantly in touch with him and it helped me in different ways in learning.

so my comment was similar one...as a feedback.

the problem with forums unnecessary and unrelated members comment and interpret in their own way...and it takes all conversation to different path.

I know when @NamesMax mentioned to relax it is just for fun...and just laughed about it.

My comments will always be polite and relevant to the content / member...no unnecessary involvement.some might saw this before.

about Network Solutions...I discussed about this too with Rob.

And I brought about 70 names to Epik from NetSol ;)
still counting...and also from other registrars!

and was discussing about hyphen names with Rob on email at the same time this comment spree...

in conclusion, this does not need any further discussion or quoting me...it will be very silly to drag this.

appreciate all of you who gave valuable inputs and not some unnecessary interfering for their own benefits.

will be moving / registering 20+ names to Epik today...

will try to provide constructive feedback that can benefit all parties...and improve the platform.

P.S.: I know it is Epik promo thread...sorry to post / discuss about one comment...I thought I should provide some explanation regarding the topic. sorry. decided to put to an end after someone commented without any relation and spamming this thread. I hope you understand. now lets stick to the purpose of this thread.

Thanks,
Ravi.

At Epik they are always done quickly! Only if the losing registrar drags it's feet or does not allow you to "fast approve" it on their side does it take awhile.

I transferred from Go Daddy this week and they were at Epik in minutes. Purchased the transfer and then went back to the GD transfers out file about 2 mins later. The names were waiting for approval. Epik had immediately sent the transfer request. Clicked the names and then approve them and the names were gone...Goodbye Go Daddy.

but seriously.,.
who actually cares,
when you are already saving $2-5 a pop
No the question was with respect to what the registrar needs to pay (or at least that is how I understood it). I was just saying the registrar has to pay the $7.85 wholesale plus the $0.18 unless there is some limited time promotion or quantity incentive offered by Verisign.

All of the various deals at Epik on .com have them losing money, just people should realize that. Of course, I suppose the hope is that enough will sell on their marketplace to make the first year loss worthwhile, since they make commissions there, or become long term renewals.

That was just my interpretation :D

We have a lot of confidence in our after-market solutions. That is what is making it possible to fund transfers at a loss. We have the best solution for domain leasing and crypto-escrow. We are closing any gaps for domain landers and I believe the jury has ruled that we are already at benchmark level:

https://www.namepros.com/threads/best-lander-amongst-three.1155301/

Our escrow product is also winning a lot of fans, and for NamePros, it is an unbeatable deal:

https://www.namepros.com/threads/if...escrow-you-are-wasting-time-and-money.1119508

Our focus now is expanding the pie:

1. Bringing more retail buyers at high prices, and helping domain sellers to sell for windfall prices.

2. Bringing new domain investors and end-users into the domain economy, notably in emerging markets.

This is going to be a journey, but the pieces are falling into place.
