I've been spending a little time reviewing the brand Catchy.com who advertises here on NamePros. They're headquartered in France and seem to have a good presentation. They say in their add; "catchy domains for lease"

First off, what's a "catchy domain"? Hell if I know, but I know one when I see one. "Catchy" domains require a sense of humor, something that seems to be lacking in the world today:xf.frown:

I believe I have a few "catchy" domains, two of which I reg'd in the last 48 hours, and neither of which have been registered before.

The first one I registered is; LakeCatchy(.)com. If you don't see the humor here I'm really sorry, but "Lake Catchy" has got to be the best name of any fishing hole in the world.

Moving on, while meeting with some friends earlier, I thought of a flea market as I rounded a corner headed for home. So what should POP into my pea brain, but CornerFlea.com. I don't know if you have flea markets where you are, but could you imagine a national chain of "Corner Flea" markets selling things from all over the world? Can anyone even begin to imagine how that might be accomplished? They could even sell fresh fish from Lake Catchy that are shipped overnight to a corner near you:xf.grin:

Do you have any "Catchy" domains? Share them with us and the story behind them. Thanks(y)

Herbaholics®, now that's a great "catchy" name you may want to consider trademarking. Check out; HerbSociety.org that started in 1933. Herbs are a big deal, and I can't believe someone wouldn't want to name their herb store (online or bricks and mortar) "Herbaholics" I wish I were younger and didn't have so much on my plate, but I'd luv to market it for you. Vitamin stores, garden centers or even herb farms might be interested. Even pot, cannabis and marijuana operations might be interested. I see on GD where the singular version herbaholic is valued at $1,445 and they're asking $4,195 for it. Question, did you handreg this in July? I see where it was first reg'd in 2001....Great Catch!

syrub.com is one catchy domain name, good for impulse buyers.

I sort of like it, but? The closest thing to it that I can think of is syrup, like in syrup for your pancakes. Then you have Syria...are you Serbian?

I'm thinking what is "catchy" in one country may not be catchy anywhere else? While I didn't reg it, WhatsUpDick.com:xf.wink: is available. Unless it's an ad for Viagra or something similar, I'm afraid it's not monetizable:xf.rolleyes:

TopNosh is good, but I'm not so sure about the .co unless someone has big plans for it. TopNoshCafe.com is in use for a restaurant in Westminister Md...who knows, they may want it? Gave me an idea for TopNoshGourmet.com, but I think that's taken too.
Think It Was August.
Thanks...that was a great hand reg. Now it's time to switch hats and become a great monetizer:xf.wink:

Another Fav Of Mine:

TopNosh
.co

Thanks for the spark....got me to "catch" TopNotchWine™.com that led to;

TipsyWhiskey™
.com and TipsyWhisky™.com

again...I just reg'd these three "catchy" domains (maybe TopNotchWine is not so "catchy"?), but it had been reg'd from 2005 - 2019, and I thought it could make a great name for an online or B & M wine store.

Here's where the rubber meets the road, and life experience comes in handy. First, all three of these names have potential to become business names for an industry (alchohol) that's a multi BILLION dollar industry. Just think, there are over 50,000 liquor stores in the US alone, and 13,000+ in California.

While I've been involved in numerous businesses all my life, I always wanted to own a liquor store. Unfortunately I live in a state where the liquor stores are state run, but wine and beer can be sold most anywhere if you have a license to do so, ie. "TotalWine". This said, i grew up 50 years ago in the Maryland and Washington DC (Go Nationals!) area where there were liquor stores on every corner:xf.eek: Fast forward 50 years, and they're still in business. My point being, I would luv to own a liquor store called TipsyWhiskey™ Now all I need to do is have a drink and figure a way to monetize my new acquisitions.

Nice Name.

Yep, I Know That Song.

I Dont Think He Has Recorded Anything Since About 2010 Though, Not Sure Hes Still Around. Which Is A Shame As It Would Be Perfect For Him.

I wish that could work for ya, but maybe it's time has passed. How about approaching a new performer or a similar talent? Good luck with it!

Are we having fun yet Jonathan:xf.grin: I just luv to comment or provide some of the reasoning behind some of the domains I own. It was your TopNosh.co domain that led me to buy;

TopNotchWine.com - Note, Elliot Silver (See DomainInvesting.com) is the Founder of Top Notch Domains, LLC. Here is a question I have for anyone reading this; How much more might an "end user" pay for the domain TopNotchWine.com than TopNotchDomains.com assuming an "end user" understands the potential for wine sales vs. domain sales?:xf.wink:

TipsyLiquors.com - this might be the "catchiest" domain I own to date. I've always wanted to own a private Liquor Store (Virginia's are state run), however, states like California have over 13,000 private liquor stores and there are over 50,000 in the US. I may never own or operate a liquor story, but I do own the best name for a liquor store eight dollars and fifty cents can buy:xf.rolleyes:

Thanks for motivating me Jonathan, and enjoy the weekend.

There were a decent amount of good, existing, potential buyers for EagleX:

www.eagle-x.com
theeaglex.com
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/eaglex
www.engagesecurity.com/products/eaglex
techmake.solutions/eaglex

Can the same be said of CatchyX?

Always be sure to do this kind of research before registering "similar" names to ones that recently sold. It's important to understand why those names sold, and to find reasons for being optimistic that your name will sell.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and I appreciate that. I guess the reason why I registered this type of domain was because I've had a number of good sales with X at the end of the domain. Names that I sold previously for high $xxx to $x,xxx include Sytex, Tobaccox, Ocuvex. Received also $xxx offers for my domains Ovlux and Brochurex but I was looking for $x,xxx. Currently, another domain Difux is pending sale for 4 figures at Dan. I've had luck with the letter x at the end so once in a while I register this kind of domain.

Brandables? Registered these two in the last hour, one a misspelling and the other a typo;

Catchsup.com -misspelling

GooFLucK.com - typo....went to wish someone Good Luck on this thread and keyed Goof Luck by accident.Cool thing is Goof is a legitimate word as is Luck. So if Google was a typo from Googol, why not GooFLuck from Good Luck:xf.rolleyes: One thing I know is that I'm one lucky guy:xf.wink:

When GooFLucK goes global...remember, you saw it here first:xf.eek:
