Kurds were a proxy with a shared goal of defeating ISIS and trying to unseat Syrian dictator Bashar. What happens to Syria if Bashar was actually unseated? Why do you think Obama didn't support Syrian rebels?
If you think this is unprecedented, let me remind you of operation desert storm. When the USA encouraged Iraqis to rebel against Sadam.... then pulled out leaving enough of his army intact to suppress the uprising and prevent a civil war.

2) The Syrian democrat army are a wild card. Are they Islamist? Probably continuation of Suni / Shia strife.
2) There are 2 million+ Syrian refugees in TK. TK wants them to go home. Do you think the Kurds want them in their "new" state?

But evidently you have no problem Abandoning our allies at a moments notice who fought with us and you don't care if these people get slaughtered. You also do not have a problem with allowing 11,000 ISIS prisoners to be freed from prison.
